Homebrew Draconic Soul Elves Species Details

The Dragonic Bound are created through an ancient long traditional pact between the elven species and the dragon species. The pact dates back hundreds thousands years when the realm of Erenoth was partly divided. Every species remained with their own kind and were shunned by other species outside their own. Each species had their own domain which they ruled over. The humans had the plains and grasslands where as the orcs ruled over mostly the mountains and the elven species had domain's in forests. Each species claimed biomes they found fitting to their nature. Unfortunately the humans were always greedy creatures whom wanted everything for themselves which included other species domains. They begin their greed with promises of wealth and other promises of better life's better crops etc. These promises were quite empty on their half however few domains believed the human species lies and were agreeing to the empty deal. The results usually meant that those species of creatures would suffer with poverty hunger disease often the result of humans building their cities and villages upon the land pushing those less fortunate to the outskirts where they struggled to survive. One by one many domains fell to the empty promises of the humans until eventually few remained. These domains were the ones whom refused the empty deals. The elven clans and orc clans being two of the five. 

 

The humans with their greed became enraged by the denial of the five domains left and decided with lies and trickery wouldn't grand them their wishes than force and violence would be used instead and sure enough one domain after the other the humans begun to conquer what they wanted often leaving barely any survivor's.anyone left alive was claimed as servants to the humans to be used as the humans seen fit.eventually over time only the elven clan,orc clan and dragonic clan remained. The result of this war of greed and brought about something which had never happened through history of time, the three clans agreed together to have a meeting which resulted in the three clans coming together as one to bring down the human species.

 

Together the clans went to war with the humans for months the war continued with loss on both sides. The dragon species suffered the most practically on verge of dying out. Druids of the elven species tried their best to preserve the pifes of the dragons however it was deemed impossible eventually the last resort was to bind their souls with that of the dragon species. This meant the dragons life essence would stop fading from the excessive battle it also meant the dragon and elves were bound together forever. The bounding between them however did bring them victory in the war and eventually the human rulers were defended and the war was over yet the pact bound remained. For centuries this pact stayed. Meaning every future elven child and dragon child born would be bound together. The ritual of the binding became a ritual within the clan of elves. They would hold special rituals to find and locate the fated elven and dragon children and from than those pairs would be raised together like siblings almost.

Draconic soul elves age the same as most elves and reach maturity between the ages of 70 to 100 and tend to live to around 750 years

Dragon soul elves are taller and heavier than humans, standing well over 6 feet tall but still slender being usually between 100 to 195 pounds . Your size is Medium.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Breath Weapon

You can use your action to exhale destructive energy. Your draconic ancestry determines the size, shape, and damage type of the exhalation. When you use your breath weapon, each creature in the area of the exhalation must make a saving throw, the type of which is determined by your draconic ancestry. The DC for this saving throw equals 8 + your Constitution modifier + your proficiency bonus. A creature takes 2d6 damage on a failed save, and half as much damage on a successful one. The damage increases to 3d6 at 6th level, 4d6 at 11th level, and 5d6 at 16th level. After you use your breath weapon, you can’t use it again until you complete a short or long rest.

Damage Resistance

You have resistance to the damage type associated with your draconic ancestry.

Languages

You can speak, read, and write Common Elvish and Draconic. Draconic is thought to be one of the oldest languages and is often used in the study of magic. The language sounds harsh to most other creatures and includes numerous hard consonants and sibilants.

Trance

You don’t need to sleep. Instead, you meditate deeply, remaining semiconscious, for 4 hours a day. (The Common word for such meditation is “trance.”) While meditating, you can still dream; such dreams are actually mental exercises that have become reflexive through years of practice. After resting in this way, you gain the same benefit that a person normally gets from 8 hours of sleep.
