Homebrew Worgen Species Details

They primarily inhabit forests and are natural hunters. Being bitten by, or drinking the blood of a worgen causes humans, and elves, to be transformed into one. After the transformation, those that are overcome by rage and guilt gradually lose all vestiges of their former lives and become mindless. By controlling their emotions via medication, magic, and self-discipline, worgen may resist being overcome by their feral instincts.

Worgen Traits

All worgens are very crafty

Keen Senses.

You have advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on hearing or smell.

Languages.

You can speak, read, and write Common and Sylvan.

Run wild

If you have nothing in your hands you can choose to run on all fours, increasing your base walking speed to 40.

Ability Score Increase.

Your Strength, Dexterity, and Constitution scores each increase by 1.

Claws

Your claws are natural weapons, which you can use to make unarmed strikes. If you hit with them, you deal slashing damage equal to 1d4 + your Strength or Dexterity modifier, instead of the bludgeoning damage normal for an unarmed strike. You also have a climbing speed equal to your walking speed.

Darkvision.

You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.

Fur.

Their fur allows worgen to withstand the cold. You’re acclimated to Extreme Cold, as described in chapter 5 of the Dungeon Master’s Guide.
