Homebrew Cereian Ogre Species Details

Cereian Orges are written off by most as little more than quick-tempered, unsociable, and easily fooled oafs. While this accurately describes many orges, it does not encompass the totality of their people.

Ogres Folly

Choose either Dexterity, Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charmisa. Your chosen ability score is reduced by 3.

Age

Cereian Ogres are considered adults as soon as they can properly fight, at around 3 years of age, and can live for thousands of years. However, given their generally violent nature, most Cereian Orges only live between 6 - 20 years..

Alignment

The unstructured existence of most Cereian Ogres steers them towards chaos.

Size

Cereian Ogres tower above most non-giants, standing between 7 - 10 feet in height and weighing between 400 - 600 pounds. However, Cereian Ogres do not stop growing with age. The longer a Cereian Ogre lives the higher they will tower and the more they will weigh. One of the oldest Cereian Ogres seen in recent memory is reported to have been around 25 feet tall and weighed well over 2500 pounds.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 40 feet.

Darkvision

You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light and in darkness within 60 feet of you as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.

Large and In Charge

You are capable of wielding weapons sized for Large creatures. Large weapons function the same as normal weapons, except their damage is increased by 1d4. Additionally, due to your massive frame, you have disadvantage on attack rolls made with any normal weapon that possesses the Finesse or Ranged properties.

Might Makes Right

When interacting with other giants or goblinoids, if you make an ability check that would normally add your Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma modifier, you may instead add your Strength modifier to the roll.

Hybrid Nature

You have two creature types: Humanoid and Giant.

Languages

You can speak Common, Giant, and one additional language of your choice. The average Cereian Ogre cannot read or write either of these languages, but there are expectations.
