Homebrew Bitel Species Details

Bitel physiology

The Bitel are a large Bitel like race known for there strong ties to specific trees and even worshiping them. They stand on 2 legs and most have a thick carapace that defends them from harm in most cases. the strangest thing about the Bitel is how quickly their bodies can change, if a Bitel changes its mind on what god it worships it will physically change over a 4 week period  to make themselves more like the god they worship

Bitel History

The Bitel are an incredibly ancient race that even out date the heritage of dragons. These creatures are said to be the descendants of, or at least physical constructs of earth and nature spirits from long ago. Almost all of the Bitel history was wiped clean from the world by a lost kinfolk of Dragonborn called the Vutha Altiuiri, also known as the Black Wings. For years the Bitel were deprived of their own freedom and used as mere tools that were only good for getting exhausting, laborious work done. However, their enslavement ended when the the Black Wings ceased to exist, they were rubbed out of history, almost as if they had never existed at all. Most Bitel believe that it was their gods of the trees that freed them, but to this day, the mystery of the Vutha Altiuiri disappearance remains unsolved.

Bitel Gods

Each and every Bitel believes in a Tree God, when a Bitel  puts its faith into one Tree God their physical construct begins to morph into a body that is reminiscent of the Tree God that they worship. It is even said that if a Bitel puts its faith into another god, they will experience a change; within a few days their bodies will be assimilated to that god, but there is no confirming piece of evidence. Each one of these gods is said to have made at least one fragment of our world,  including the forests the the Bitel live in.

Redvis is the Tree God of the Redwood tree  and is known for his inquisitive nature, intelligence, and small size.  He made the world's entire core simply from stone and the raw power of his own mind. He loved to build and make things that benefit his followers. He revolutionized the Bitel’s way of life and advance their thinking by making basic machines from the most  simple of objects. These acts are represented by the Redwood forests all over the world, but one forest in particular is known as the Ancient Lands. These lands are said to be the very first to exist, the first of all Redwood forests.

Birich, the Tree God of the Birch wood  is notorious for his extraordinary strength, nobility, and large size. He knew only  how to protect those who put his faith in him, and always put others first. He showed the Bitel how to care for others, not themselves and that compassion shows real strength . Birich made the mantle of our world, but only by giving up his heart to create it. There is said to be a temple located in the heart of the oldest birch wood forest there is and this is where Birich would reside and live out the rest of his short days.

Hictorim, the God of the Hickory wood was known for his rigid attitude and his wrath towards other races that would not help the  Bitel people during their long years of enslavement. He took the survival of his kinfolk into his hands, and lead the desecration of the Vutha Altriuiri clan. He shed his battle torn body to make the very crust of beneath our feet. There's said to be a great Hickory at which Hictorim was buried, but no other race other than the Bitel has ever seen it.

Cuitm is the goddess of the Cuipo tree, she only believed in the values and inner being of a person. She would bless the objects of those who chose the side of inner peace and refuge. Her followers were mostly made up of the hurt, blind, an the ill. She sought to help those who truly needed her, even to the point that she gave her own soul to make the air that fills everyone's lungs now.
