Homebrew Baby Sasquatch Species Details

Baby Sasquatches are a race of gentle giants, standing at around 3-4 feet tall and weighing between 50-80 pounds. They have thick, shaggy fur covering their entire body, ranging in color from brown to black to reddish-brown. Their faces are humanoid, with expressive eyes and a broad nose, and they have long, dexterous fingers and toes. Despite their size, Baby Sasquatches are agile and nimble, able to move quickly through the forest and climb trees with ease. They have a deep connection to nature and are known to be fiercely protective of their homes and allies. Baby Sasquatches are peaceful creatures by nature, but they are not afraid to use their impressive strength in combat if they or their loved ones are threatened.

Baby Sasquatches reach adulthood at around 15 years old and can live up to 100 years.

Height and Weight

Baby Sasquatches are around 3 to 4 feet tall and weigh between 50 and 80 pounds. They are considered small creatures.

Baby Sasquatch Traits

As a Baby Sasquatch, you have the following racial traits.

Aggressive Bite

Hit: 1d8 piercing damage. If the target is a creature, it must succeed on a DC 13 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone. Additionally, if the Sasquatch has advantage on the attack roll, it can choose to grapple the target instead of dealing damage. While grappled, the target is restrained and takes 1d6 (plus damage modifier) piercing damage at the start of each of its turns. The Sasquatch can use its action to end the grapple.

Aggressive Claws

Unarmed Attack: reach 5 ft., one target.

Hit: 2d6 plus (damage modifier) slashing damage. If the Sasquatch hits with both claw attacks on the same turn, it can use its bonus action to make one bite attack.

Multiattack

The Sasquatch can use its claws twice as part of a multiattack, along with one bite attack if desired.

Depending on where your character was born, they will have special traits.

Your size is Small.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 30 feet, and you have a climbing speed of 20 feet. You can burrow through sand, earth, mud, 10 feet, but not through solid stone or ice. Your burrowing may leave behind a tunnel, depending on the material you are burrowing through. 

Darkvision

You can see in dim light within 120 feet of you as if it were bright light and in darkness as if it were dim light. You discern colors in that darkness only as shades of gray.

Forest Dweller

You have proficiency in the Stealth skill, and you can move through difficult terrain made of natural foliage without penalty.

Sasquatch's Strength

When you make a Strength check or Strength saving throw, you can roll an additional d4 and add the result to your roll.

Speak with Animals

You can communicate with beasts and other creatures that can understand a language. You have advantage on Wisdom (Animal Handling) checks made to influence them.

Nature's Ally

Baby Sasquatches are known for their connection to the natural world. You have proficiency in the Nature skill, and you can cast the druidcraft cantrip. When you reach 3rd level, you can cast the speak with animals spell once per day. When you reach 5th level, you can cast the animal messenger spell once per day. Wisdom is your spellcasting ability for these spells.

Loyal Companions

Baby Sasquatches are fiercely loyal to their friends and family. When you are within 30 feet of an ally, you can use your reaction to give that ally advantage on their next attack roll or ability check.

Keen Senses

You have advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on smell or hearing.
