Homebrew Arachnid Species Details
Arachnids are half-humanoid spider hybrids, with their lower body resembling that of a large eight-legged spider, belonging to their arachnid parent, and the upper body resembling their non-Arachnid parent, whether they be human, elf, dwarf, orc, or another. However, they also possess the ability to switch between the aforementioned form and a normal humanoid form, making them look almost identical to their parents' race. Arachnids stand at roughly 7 feet tall on average. Their spider’s half retains the attributes of the species of spider they belong to. Commonly found Arachnid sub-species include wolves, jumping, and widow spiders.

Arachnid Forms
You have the ability to alter between two forms: The Humanoid Form and the Monstrous Form. Switching Forms requires a Full turn, excluding movement.
The Humanoid Form:
In this form, you are almost indiscernible from a normal humanoid, sharing their size and features, though you do have a few spider-like features such as Spider Fangs, Multiple Eyes, Blue Blood or Button Eyes.
The Monstrous Form:
This form's size is large. While in this form you have the lower body of a spider and the upper body of a human, this upper half counts as medium for the purpose of mechanics.
While in this form you can not ride mounts or vehicles that don't accommodate your size, but you have a climbing speed equal to your walking speed.
Additionally while in this form your creature type is Monstrosity.
To switch between forms you must choose the according option in the character builder.
Darkvision
You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
Arachnid's Lore
You gain proficiency in one skill of your choice, from: Acrobatics, Intimidation, Perception, Stealth, or Survival.
Spider Walk
You have a climb speed equal to your walking speed. You can climb difficult surfaces, including upside down on ceilings, however, for that you must make a Dc [17 - Dex mod] acrobatics check. Additionally, you ignore movement restrictions caused by your own webbing.
Webbing
You can use your action to create strings from your fingers at will. You can create up to 50 ft. of string or 10 ft. by 10 ft. of sticky webbing per short rest.
(Obviously, you don't need to deploy all of the string/webbings at once)
You can choose to make three different kinds of string:
Basic thread: The basic form of the string, acts exactly like a rope.
Sticky thread: An Advanced form of the string, if a creature climbs it they use double movement and the rope can be stuck to walls or objects where it will act as if it was tied around them.
Steel thread: The best version of the String, creating it takes 2x the available ft. per 1 ft. made. This rope is immune to fire damage, resistant to slashing damage and has 2x the carry weight and 20 hp.
The sticky webbing is placed as 4 separate 5 ft. by 5 ft. squares that you can position wherever you like within 20 ft. If a creature walks into the webbing they must make a DC [10 + prof bonus] strength save or be restrained until the start of their next turn. Additionally, webbing always counts as difficult terrain.
Languages
You gain proficiency in Common and another language of your choice.
