Dogling Traits

A humanoid race who’s head resembles that of a dog. Small or medium in size, the race is defined by its ability to bond to another creature.

Bonded creature

You bond with 1 creature only. This can take anywhere from an hour to days. Once bonded you gain certain benefits as detailed in class traits. If you bond to a second creature, you lose the bond to the first one

Enemy of my friend

When attacking a creature AFTER your bonded creature has attacked them, you gain advantage on your next attack.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus after which you must take a long rest before you can do so again.

Who's a good boy

When passing a save or scoring a critical hit you gain a pool of "Good Boy Dice" (d4) which you can then add to an attack roll or save (after you roll but before the outcome).
You can have a max pool equal to your proficiency bonus after which you need to take a long rest before you can gain any more.

Not the boss!

When an enemy attacks the creature you have bonded with, you can use your reaction to move up to half your speed and intercept the attack. The attack is made against you instead, and if it hits you take the damage instead of the bonded creature.
You must complete a long rest before you can use this feature again.

Where go?

You have advantage in Wisdom (survival) or Intelligence (investigation) roll when trying to track your bonded creature

Separation anxiety

If your bonded creature is out of sight, you attack with disadvantage as you get consumed with questions such as "why did they leave?" and "are they ever coming back?"
