Vicious creatures, any swamp that a bullywug tribe decides to infest becomes a dangerous land to pass through. They're cowards, fighting in groups, and relying on cheap shots and tactical ambushes to kill their foes. Shiny trinkets and gems are of particular interest to the bullywugs, and they have no qualms over how they obtain such luxuries.

Deluded Nobility

Bullywugs may look like little more than savages to outsiders. They are. But in their minds, they're the royal monarchs of the swamp, assuming long, fanciful titles and establishing social hierarchies. At the end of the day, they are all inferior to the ruler of the tribe - a mud-covered king of the swamp - and look to gain his favour at all times in order to get respect from the rest of the group. This act of royalty doesn't fool anyone though. As it's plain to see thay they're still savages, raiding and killing outsiders - and even each other - to get what they want.

All bullywugs care about is power and authority, which comes from appeasing the king or queen of the swamp. This can be achieved by giving their slimy overlords powerful magic items and gleaming baubles to decorate their filthy physique with, at which point the ruler will decide to demote or kill their previous thane so that they can promote their newest one. There is a risky alternative, which would be to simply murder their rivals in cold-blood. However, only a few bullywugs resort to this, and even fewer of them get away with it.
