Homebrew Yuan-ti Abomination Species Details
Yuan-ti were originally humans who transformed themselves into serpent folk through ancient rituals. Most yuan-ti were corrupted into monsters by those rites, but some yuan-ti instead became a new people who mix characteristics of humans and snakes.
Blessed with resistance to magical and poisonous effects by the rituals that created them, the outwardly monstrous yuan-ti abominations are also endowed with great strength more than capable of holding and crushing whatever manner of beast or humanoid that has the ill fortune of falling into its clutches, and a fanged bite that can deliver deadly venom directly into the victim's bloodstream. They can also call upon their reptilian heritage to commune with snakes, and even attempt to mesmerize other intelligent beings.
Though a great deal rarer to witness slithering upon the surface world than their pureblood kin, those few yuan-ti abominations that have escaped the confines of their under-empires' malefic influence can prove themselves as deadly warriors and spellcasters in the service of those who might recognize the true intent dwelling behind their inhuman eyes, and ignore their threatening, unfeeling ophidian exteriors. Often possessed by a grandiose sense of self-worth derived from their roots as the pinnacle of yuan-ti society, many abominations that fall under neutral or good alignments have traded ritualistic sadism and unfeeling cruelty for a cold sense of pride and accomplishment in themselves and their chosen means by which they carve their way through the multiverse.
