Homebrew Centidae Species Details

Hey Thanks for checking this out I've decided to take a break from this homebrew to go back to my world building so Ill be doing some touching ups later. As this is my first ever attempt at making a race I was hoping to get some honest feedback. Lemme know what you think in the comments.
Cheers Oddlaw

Centidae are an insect like race with complex social systems. These highly adaptable sentient omnivores live in Hives led by individuals known as Brood Kings and Brood Queens who mate for life and are responsible for birthing entire colonies. Centidae Kings and Queens rule their colonies using a variety of methods to monitor and control those in their hive. First they possess a mild level of psionics and mind control which is how they ingrain such a deep sense of family into their hive. The psionic ingraining of the importance of family into Centidae is so prevalent it has resulted in many stories where a child lost in the woods wandered into a Centidae and the Centidae taking pity helped the child reunite with its family. Second both King and Queen are responsible for carving their hives symbol onto every subject. A hive symbol is decided upon by the Brood King and Brood Queen and is unique to each hive. The painless process of carving one into a Centidaes carapace creates as a visual badge of what hive one belongs to, and each hive carves their symbol onto prominent areas such as on the face, or on the hands of a Centidae. Finally the Brood King regularly patrols his domain marking it and his subjects with pheromones, these pheromones packets can only be produced by the King and are almost unoticeable to other races. Usually a few Royal Centidae acts as assistants to the King and Queen and helping them with these tasks including checking for pheromones and hive symbols, with the wrath of the hive quickly befalling any Centidae with the wrong pheromones and the wrong symbol. Centidae only harbor animosity towards other Centidae that are active participants in other Hives. The scent markings produced by the brood king can wear off on a Centidae when they aren't repeatedly exposed to it, and even can be removed with excessive bathing. Hive symbols are lost when a Centidae molts and a Centidae molts on average every 5 days. It is not uncommon for Centidae who are either exiled, or just have left for their hive for a long period of time to lose scent and symbol. In those instances some of been seen joining Hives strong often unmarked Centidae may be invited infront of the king in an attempt to win their loyalty to the hive.
The life cycle of a Centidae starts as an egg . These eggs are laid in large clusters of 12 by a Brood queen in a nest in the center of their hive. The eggs are tended to by Brood Queen and some Royal Centidae. They start out roughly the size of a cantaloupe but grow rapidly to accomodate for the size of the Larva. Upon hatching the larva of Centidae measure about 3 feet long from head to tail. There half footlong head is that of a grub and attaches to a foot long flexible thorax. This thorax has a total of nine limbs. At the end of the thorax is their two foot long abdomen usually tipped with a pincer. The upper part of the thorax is a humanoid torsos with two arms ending with 3 fingered claws one on each side of their body. A third shorter central arm protrudes from the middle of their chest and ends in a 5 pronged claw. This upper half of the thorax or the "torso" is held up perpendicular to the ground giving the larva a profile similar to a centaur. The lower half of the thorax has six stocky antlike legs that support their entire body as they waddle around the nest. Centidae children are very capable of climbing trees, tunneling and are quite dexterous. Once they are grown enough to help with some of the colonies basic jobs they move from then nest to the nursery. They spend their young life around the nursery assisting the aged Centidae who are too old to gather or hunt for food. These elders spend their time caring for the young, teaching them about Centid Hive society, managing the food of a hive, and taking care of the injured. In recent years some Centidae have shown quite the profeciency at certain crafts turning the excess inedible resources the hunter forms would discard into tradeable goods. Those goods could be sent to settlements of other races in exchange for much needed food. Centidae are voracious omnivores, and their diets determines what they will transform into once they cocoon themselves. The more Herbivorous the diet the more likely a Centidae will grow into the gatherer body forms like the Strangler, or the Leaper while a more carnivorous diet will lead to a hunter body form like a Crusher, or a Weaver. Once a Centidae reaches the age of 5 it gains the ability to transform. It will move from the nursery into the hatchery where it can spin a cocoon around itself. Over the next few days the Centid will transforms into its final adult form inside of its cocoon. Once hatched this now Adult Centid is welcomed to the Hive, where it assists with whatever its form specializes in. The spider like weavers excel at making traps for small animals, while the scorpion like crushers work in groups to hunt larger animals. The grasshopper like Leapers are capable of gathering fruits and berries in dangerous areas due to their hightened mobility. While the Centipede like Stranglers are used in the hives excavation and construction and to help move larger food items like roots and vegetables. A Centids diet helps determine what form it will take with its form matching whatever the Centid consumes the most.
Before transforming a Centid needs to store up a lot of food in its abdomen to be able to fuel its transformation. The transformation itself requires three days in order to create one of the Adult Forms, and during that time the Centid cannot move. Since the nutrients in the abdomen are consumed after the transformation (and often the very abdomen itself is fused or is modified for the resulting adult form) an Adult Form forcing itself to transform again is possible but also a dangerous process that most Centid try to avoid as doing so leaves them exhuasted and close to death. The Larval to Adult transformation is also the only chance a Centid has of gaining wings and becoming a Royal Centidae. Any Adult to Adult transformation will never result in the growth of the wings only found on Royalty. Many rumors circulate around the hive claiming a Centid that consumes certain things is more likely to become a Royal, however none of the rumors have been proven true so far. These wings appearence differ between each individual, and are small for their body size. Their most common usage is to help slow their descent when falling, and only Royal Leapers have been known to fly consistently.
Once your Centid is atleast 5 years old it can start the multimorph process. Start by rolling a D100. On a 13, 47, or 89 the Centid gains the background "Hive King/Queen". Following this you may either decide what you want to become if your character has tracked its food intake. Or assign each form a unique numerical value from 1 to 4 (for example Weaver = 1, Crusher = 2, Leaper = 3, Strangler = 4) following this roll a d4 and use the given result. The Centid then must wait 72 hours before it is revealed, during this time it does acrue levels of exhuastion.
The transformation process is a major point in a Centidae's life because it determines its role in society,  Brood Kings and Queens are responsible for ensuring all Centidae roles feel like they are equally useful. Clashes between adult forms very quickly threaten the stability of the Hive.

Centidae Traits

The polymorphism of this race provides a wide variety of racial traits.

Darkvision

Due to their homes being underground you have Darkvision.

Poison Resilience

You have advantage on saving throws you make to avoid or end the poisoned condition on yourself. You also have resistance to poison damage.

Multimorph

Larval Centidae can enter a state of metamorphosis as young as the age of 5. At this point they gorge themselves on food in preparation for the transformative process in which their diet will determine what Form they become.
The metamorphisis is started when a Centidae wraps itself in a cocoon to help restrict its body from moving. The process itself takes 3 days in which they are unable to do anything including rest. (In game this results in 3 levels of exhaustion.)
A player wishing to start the metamorphosis process can either roll a D4 to determine subrace if they have not tracked their food intake or if a player spends 4 days tailoring their diet with the following in mind they can select what Form they wish to take.
The Consumption of fish and Creatures up to the smaller then the medium size will result in transforming into the Weaver.
The consumption of meat from animals larger then the medium size will result in transforming into the Crusher.
The consumption of fruits and nuts will result in the Strangler.
The consumption of vegetables and grasses will result in the Leaper.
After that roll a D100 on a 1-12, and 90-100 choose a background any background aside from Centidae Royalty. On a 14-46 Choose from the upper class background. On a 48-88 Choose From a lower Class background On a 13, 47, or 89 they gain the background Centidae Royalty as well as a Centidae background of their choosing. This roll cannot be modified in anyway, nothing can add to or subtract from this roll.

Any transformation after that initial transformation from Larva to Adult, (any Adult to Adult transformations) requires Twice as much food intake prior to the transformation and an extra Day of time.
