Homebrew CogHearts Species Details

The CogHeart stands as a relic of the past wars of human kind. These huge, powerful forces are often seen as terrifying to the very people who created them. They have since left the public eye, dwelling in tribal societies in spaces with less socialization with others.

Metal Ore Origins

CogHearts have a similar look to Dragonborns when it comes to their upper torso, but do not be fooled. These creatures, however constructed they are, are quadrupedal. Their lower halves can be resembling anything from snow leopards to crocodiles, all depending on where they originate. The first CogHearts were mainly golden, with huge wings and mainly horse lower halves. But generations later, there is much more variety after the fact. They appear to be scaled or fur covered, however they are not, it is just carved patterns in their metal forms.

The metalic, shining forms of these huge beasts can be gleaming gold, silver, brass, copper, rose gold, bronze, or any other natural metal color. As well as this, they have "manes" of plants. These plant formations can be any plant type from the area that these CogHearts originate in. For example, a jungle CogHeart may have pitcher plants on them

Familial Bonds

To any Cogheart, the family they are constructed by is one of the most significant thing. These metalic entities owe their devotion and respect to their clan above all else, even the gods. Each dragonborn’s conduct reflects on the honor of his or her clan, and bringing dishonor to the clan can result in expulsion and exile. Each dragonborn knows his or her station and duties within the clan, and honor demands maintaining the bounds of that position.

Unlike Dragonborns and other different draconic races, Coghearts are not normally self reliant. While CogHearts are capable of living solitary lives, it is not normal for them. Even ones that end up leaving their families usually do so to build their own. There are rumors however of adventurer Coghearts, they may be uncommon but they are real. The structures of Cogheart families leads the CogHearts to have mastery of mainly survival related skills, due to their importance.

CogHeart Names

Coghearts have personal names given at birth, these hames are not usually changed. these names follow a structural rule of a metalic title followed by a draconic name. This naming convention is not as strict as many other races names, but that is known to be because they are such a different form of society.
