Homebrew Doll Construct Species Details

Boom. The walls of the manor shuddered as the gate was blown away. Thud. The corridors echoed as the bodies of countless guards collapsed. Swoosh. The bedroom fell silent, a once struggling noble now limp against the nightstand. A perfectly executed mission. An unnatural silence, brought forth by the reaper incarnate. Created for varying purposes and fulfilling various duties, Doll Constructs are built to serve their creator as directed. Some sentient and others with limited intelligence, they are ideal servants that follow their orders with inhuman precision.

Doll Construct Traits

Doll Constructs share certain design traits as a result of generalized manufacturing.

Ability Score Increase

Your Intelligence score increases by 2, and one other ability score of your choice increases by 1.

Age

Doll Constructs typically do not age in the proper sense, but they can show signs of wearing and decay if proper maintenance is neglected. If properly maintained, a doll construct is functionally immortal, never succumbing to the effects of old age or erosion.

Size

Doll Constructs are built like well-proportioned humans, ranging from 5 to 6 feet tall. Your size is Medium.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Defiant Reconstruction

As a reaction when you are reduced to 0 hit points but not killed outright, you can attempt to reconstruct yourself. Roll a d20. On a result of 11 or higher, you regain hit points equal to your Intelligence modifier + your level (minimum of 1). Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a short or long rest.

Inorganic Fortitude

You do not need to breathe, and have resistance to poison and necrotic damage.

Spell Conduit

Your body can act as a conduit for spells cast through you. When you are the target of a beneficial spell with a range of touch, you can choose to have the spell affect an additional willing creature within 5 feet of you. Additionally, whenever you succeed on a saving throw against a spell, you regain hit points equal to the spell's level + your Intelligence modifier (minimum of 1).

Unbreakable Mind

Your consciousness is firmly anchored within your construct body. You have advantage on saving throws against being frightened and charmed. Also, you cannot be put to sleep by magical means.

Languages

You can speak, read, and write Common and one extra language of your choice. Doll Constructs typically learn the language of the creature that created them, if they speak one at all.
