Homebrew Yarendoe Species Details
Ugh, even his children are as disgusting and creepy as himself. Does he not have any standards? Well, at least he cared enough to make them strong enough to fight for themselves, more than he can say he did for his other children.
I wonder what other important figures would have to say about them, regardless. His tyranny over rot and decay knows no bounds it would seem, why does he feel the need to create life that suffers from the deceased?
Yarendoes are the children of a deity whose name is Yh'aratharr; made from essence and hunted elks, their bodies have been remade to become the predator over the prey. They are potentially Yh'aratharr's best creation, being his most intelligent, strongest, and resilient creations. Despite their origins, they are often peaceful despite being territorial; intelligent and wise.
Tall and Stoic
With their fur ranging from a spectrum of browns, beiges, blacks, and grays; they come in a variety of sizes. Yarendoes tend to range somewhere between 8 and 12 feet tall, though taller have been discovered. Their beautiful antlers come in all sorts of shapes and strange sizes, and may even have more than 2 or sometimes even 1. Yarendoes weigh in at around 300 to 360 lbs.
Meat Lovers
Yarendoes have a diet consisting of purely meat, raw or cooked. They on rare occasions they will deviate from the usual meat, so long as there's meat on the side. For them, meat is the best food there is; no questions asked. Offer them a salad? No thanks. Offer them a raw piece of rabbit? That there's a nice dinner.
Cold but Friendly
Yarendoes are territorial in nature, and often choose a portion of land to inhabit and claim as theirs regardless of other creatures. However, yarendoes are extremely honorbound when it comes to territories, and will never actively choose to trespass on the land claimed by another fellow yarendoe; doesn't mean that they are all enemies to one another though, quite the opposite! When yarendoes are without their own territories, they can often prove to be quite great friends with one another, and with other creatures.
OPINIONS?
Yarendoes don't tend to form a general opinion on other races.
Nature Territories
Yarendoes are quick and fast hunters of their land, stalkers of the night and one with nature. They take their self-imposed role as the guardian and owners of their self-acclaimed land very seriously, making sure that their ideals and rules of the wild are being followed down to a tee. Each one is able to come up with their own ideals on how the world of the wilderness should run, and what laws should and shouldn't be in place.
Some are more loose, saying that whatever happens, happens. Others might be more strict, and force any passersby to abide by their rules. A yarendoe without their own territory tends to have a need to find their own subconsciously, or was born as what the yarendoes call a "Woam", and live purely to support another yarendoe in protecting and defending the laws and regulations of the territory.
Arcana
Yarendoes have the unique property of being able to attune unique items crafted from natural resources of them; be it a sword made from their claws, or a sickle made from their bones. This has resulted in a good amount of travelers seeking them out to attune their magical items for them, much to the dismay and annoyance of some yarendoes, others don't mind it at all though.
Yarendoe Names
Yarendoes once had their own names, spoken in their exotic language of Yarathan. However as time went on, they dropped these names in favor of names of practically any language one could write on paper.
