Homebrew Draconic Elf Species Details

The Draconian Elves were created through experimentation by dark elves. A small cult of dark elves that worshipped the false god Apophis stumbled upon the body of an injured dragon from ancient times. This dragon was one of the 10 great dragons that still remained at that time and that the draconian races descended from. They ensured that the dragon could not hurt them by placing it under a dark spell and began to experiment with the dragon's pure blood. An accident occurred when a pregnant dark elf cut themselves and the blood of the dragon got into the cut. The dark elf that received the dragon's blood by accident gave birth to the first Draconian elf. Over time the blood and descendants became more and more diluted; however, there is a direct lineage of purebloods that has always remained through secret and some divine intervention.

Draconic Elf Traits

The race excels in draconic spells and and dark elven magic. They are skilled with short-swords, long-swords, ranged weaponry (specifically bows), knives, and daggers.

Darkvision

Accustomed to twilight forests and the night sky, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.

Keen Senses

You have proficiency in the Perception skill.

Fey Ancestry

You have advantage on saving throws against being charmed, and magic can’t put you to sleep.

Trance

Elves don’t need to sleep. Instead, they meditate deeply, remaining semiconscious, for 4 hours a day. (The Common word for such meditation is “trance.”) While meditating, you can dream after a fashion; such dreams are actually mental exercises that have become reflexive through years of practice. After resting in this way, you gain the same benefit that a human does from 8 hours of sleep.

Ability Score Increase

Your Wisdom score increases by 1.

Elf Weapon Training

You have proficiency with the longsword, shortsword, shortbow, and longbow.

 

Fleet of Foot

Your base walking speed increases to 40 feet.

Mask of the Wild

You can attempt to hide even when you are only lightly obscured by foliage, heavy rain, falling snow, mist, and other natural phenomena.

Spells of the Dark Elves

Allows access to spells that are only known to your race of Dark Elves.
