The Aplantea may have roots but the tend not to set them down. The first Aplantea were almost certainly an accident of magic they come in every variety of plant that grows from flowering shrubs to hardy crops. Aplantea may be may of leaves and sap but they are as lively and intelligent as any creature made from flesh and blood. Once Aplantea were only found in the depths of the forest but with the expansion of civilisation the have become common even in rural areas.
Leaves and Sap
Individual Aplantea are formed from a single species of plant. Much like any other plant they need water and sunlight to survive and different Aplantea need different levels of these to remain healthy A cactus Aplantea may be happy with long days in the sun with little water but a turnip Aplantea would be much happier with damp soil. Some Aplantea are grown from carnivorous plants and enjoy feasting upon flesh but most are happy to get their daily nutrients by sleeping with their roots buried in the soil.
While they’re grown from seeds, Aplantea are living humanoids. Resting, healing magic, and the Medicine skill all provide the same benefits to Aplantae that they do to other humanoids. An Aplantea can focus its mind on its body as it grows, adjusting its growth to its access to nutrients. An Aplantea who expects a time of plenty might focus on growing flowers and fruits, while during a time of scarcity they might be pressed to adopt a larger leaves and longer roots.
Aplantea Personality
Aplantea are as varied in personality as they are in appearance they grow under hundreds of different conditions and in thousands of different breeds while one Aplantea may see farming as a horrible imposition on plant rights another may see it as a safe place for plants to grow in excellent soil.
The typical Aplantea shows much emotion. Many Aplantea embrace a life of leisure — basking in sunlight, napping in fertile soil, or other pursuits — and devote themselves to this task until something else comes along. However, there are Aplantea who delight in exploring the world and meeting the people in it. Most Aplantea have no interest in religion, but some embrace faith and mysticism, seeking higher purpose and deeper meaning.
The typical Aplantea has a small, sexless body shape. Most Aplantea ignore the concept of gender entirely, while others adopt a gender identity in emulation of creatures around them.
Quirks
Whether due to some flaw in their sap or simple ignorance of how other creatures operate, Aplantea often acquire an odd personality trait or two. An Aplantea player can choose to roll or select a trait from the Aplantea Quirks table.

Aplantea Names
Aplantea take names based on the environment they first sprouted in or from the genus of plant that gave them life. Some Aplantea take names simply based on how much they like the way they sound.

A typical Aplantea is between ten and one-hundred years old. The maximum lifespan of an Aplantea depends on its species; some, Aplantea have shown no signs of deterioration due to age.

Your size is dependant on your species most Aplantea fit anywhere from the medium to large categories with Aplantea growing to slightly larger than a non-Aplantea plant of the same genus.
Speed
Your base walking speed is 30 feet and your base burrowing speed is 5 feet.
Chlorophyll
You do not receive any penalties for not eating.
Nutritious Rest
When you take a long rest, you must spend at least six hours in an immobile while sleeping in this state you are under the affects of the [condition]restrained[/conditon].

You can speak, read, and write Common and Sylvan.

Posted May 10, 2020I was gonna post my own race based off plant people. The traits are similar but I feel the way we describe our race's personality, body shape, etc. are different enough to warrant it not being a copy.
