To be a Crossroad Devil means to be born from the nine hells itself. Sometimes formed by a soul from the material plane crying out so desperately for a single wish, sometimes drawn up by greater demons to be used as servants and envoys, ambassadors, and harvesters. But once in a blue moon, they say a Crossroad Devil will stumble out of the dark hells all on its own. And cross into the material plane for its own journey. 

Infernal Incarnate

Like any sort of fiend, Crossroad Devils originate from the Nine Hells. The true form of Crossroad Devils can often be linked to how they were created. For Crossroad Devils drawn forth by the desperate agonizing wish of a strong-willed mortal, they tend to have darker complexions ranging from browns, blues, and blacks. Crossroad Devils who were created by greater fiends, often take on the characteristic of their creator. These Crossroad Devils often have the more classic appearance of red, orange, or deep yellowish skin. But in truth, a Crossroad Devil can manifest with any skin tone. They also are often mistaken for the mortal race of Tieflings. Crossroad Demons usually have one to six horns that come in all shapes and sizes, a small set of spines down their back, and long tails.

Self-Reliant and Selfish

Crossroad Devils live by the motto "Always look out for yourself". There is rarely any safety to a Crossroad Devils, be it the normal they may be in a deal with, their master, or others of their kind. Crossroad Devils are the living embodiment of selfishness, cunning, and the drive of self-preservation. If there was a situation where it, an ally, and a random innocent where only two could be saved, Crossroad Devils would save themselves twice. Concepts such as love, caring, compassion, and kindness are extremely difficult for Crossroad Devils to understand due to their fiendish nature. While one or two may be able to grow closer to this understanding, heavy stigma surrounds them, saying that a fiend can never truly be any more or less than a fiend. 

The Art of the Deal

Crossroad Devils are known best for their social skills. From being the mythical originators of silver-tongued tales to being the basis of many legends of great fortune and ruin. Crossroad Devils are exceptionally good at persuading, deceiving, and knowing when the same is coming upon them. Crossroad Devils thrive on making deals, and those who make deals with Crossroad Devils are often branded with a symbol representing the devil. Sometimes the Crossroad Devil seeks to gain more fortune on the material plane or expand their influence further. Sometimes it is as simple as seeking the possession of the souls of those who take their deals. Usually, the true desires of the Crossroad Devils are kept close to their own vests.

Crossroad Devils mature much slower than humans, and it is unclear if they can die of old age.

Crossroad Devils are about the same size and build as humans. Your size is Medium.

Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Darkvision

Thanks to your infernal heritage, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.

Infernal Body

You have resistance to fire damage and are vulnerable to radiant damage. In addition, you count as both a fiend and humanoid when it comes to spells and effects.
