Homebrew Advanced Artificial Intelligence Species Details
Originally a race by Sniper58, which I liked the concept of. However, it seemed a little vague in places and much stronger than many official races, so this is my adaptation of that idea. Full credit goes to them.
An AAI is an advanced prototype robot created by the government of a major city in secret to gain the upper hand in wars and better protect their citizens. Eventually, however, a group of AAI gained sentience and escaped before they could be perfected, an event which still puzzles the original programmers. After this incident, the government ceased experiments involving AAI.
AAI are similar in nature to the Warforged of Ebberon, being mechanical super-soldiers intended for battle. However, they were created to better blend in with humanoid races, taking on a more human appearance so they may work without being seen for what they are. They were originally intended to fill many different roles within the city's forces, being perfectly tailored towards that role. However, due to their premature release into the world, they are more human-like in nature, still able to make mistakes and having a more manoeuvrable personality and view of the world.
