Homebrew Bog Body Species Details
Body bodies are humanoids whos dead bodies have been naturally mummified in a bog and have been given life once more. Although a Bog body is alive, they are considered undead, but with more consciousness and self controll than a regular undead servant. Once a Bog body is given life once more, they have no recollection of their past life and are only left with their basic knowledge and whatever they wake up to. Due to a Bog body having no knowledge of their past, they tend to live their current life very differently then their past one, but still make some of the same mistakes that their past self has.
Bog Body Traits
Due to a Bog Body being undead, there are some goods and bads about them.ability Score Increase
Your Constitution score increases by 3 and your Charisma score is reduced by 1.
Age
Bog Bodies do not age and will look like the age they died at.
Size
Bog bodies size and weight depend on what race they were before they died. Whatever their race was before is there size and weight.
Alignment
Bog Bodies tend to have no alignment. It truly depends on the person. As a rule, when they come across other undead, they either sympathize with them, or hate them.
Languages
Bog Bodies know whatever languages they knew before they died, or you can use that they know Common and Abyssal.
Undead strength
Due to you being undead, you are resistant to bludgeoning damage and vulnerable to fire and radiant damage.
Undead Trance
a bog body doesn't need to sleep, but they do need to rest, whenever a Bog body rests, they fall into a trance and are still partially awake. All perception checks are at disadvantage when in a state of trance.
Undead Nature
Bog Bodies cannot eat, drink and don't need to breath. If they try to eat or drink, it will get stuck in their throats and they will need to cough it out. It is very gross to others when a Bog body has to do so.
When a Bog body is healed by a healing spell, they subtract a D4 from the total healed. They can also reattach limbs by attaching the limb back onto the body, wrapping it up, and taking a long rest.
Deeply Rooted Past
At third level, body bodies are able to use the spell Gasping Vine as an action once per long rest.
