Homebrew Awakened Skeleton Species Details

Re-animated corpses of humanoids, they are free from their masters bonds due to the death of their master, a magical accident releasing their bonds, the intervention of another magic practitioner breaking the bond or the intervention of a powerful deity.

Depending on the length of time since their death they may be meaty but will quickly decompose to just bone as the magic settles in. Once their flesh is gone, they are left with unnaturally white bones magically held together by necromantic power.

Current art was found on google, the artist is JoelWhite on deviant art, please support the original artist. I tried adding a link but then it wouldn't let me use the race, I will update with my own art down the line.
