Homebrew Chimera Species Details
Chimeres are known as monsters, created by evil wizards, in search of creating a powerfull creature, but sometimes, they use humanoids as a base, kidnaping pregnant woman, or being the own witches who cast the ritual on themselves.
Even if they look like the race they were going to be when born, before being turned into monsters, they tend to look less, and less human as they modify themselves, to the point of rejecting completely their humanity sometimes. Even when they doesn't have no modification, they usually look a bit off (wierd eye or hair color, a little bit longer limbs, etc)
They are rejected by society and sometimes hunted down like monsters, as in essence, they are. They also usually are considered as a danger for society.
Chimera Traits
They are the masters of adaptation, so they tend to hunt monsters in order to get their skills and strength and their natural regen is also a great advantage. But they are weak from born as consecuence of the black magic.Weaknes
They start with -2 strength, -2 constitution and -1 dexterity as consecuence of the black magic inside them, but also have 2 points to give to the stats they want.
Adaptation
You can get rid of one of your limbs or organs and replace it with another one. The only limit is the part not being rotten.
The new limb needs time to adapt the new body, so depending on the size, it will take longer:
- Tiny: three months
- Small: one week
- Medium: a long rest
- Large: one week
- Huge: two months
- Gargantuan: six months
When it finishes the adaptation, the size will have been changed to fit the character. Untill that happens, a large or small limb won't give any buffs. A tiny, huge or gargantuan limb won't work and will be dead weight.
While you still have the limb, you gain the monster modificator for strength, dexterity and constitution added to yours when using that limb.
If it comes with any special skill or attack, it will also be inhereted.
For changing organs, they can only be small, medium or large. It will allways take a week for it to adapt. If the changed organ is external, it will hurt 1d4 of a damage type depending on the organ. For intern organs, will take the character down to one hit, incapacitate it fkr a whole day and must be done by other character.
Regeneration
You heal twice as much from short and long rests.
But heal:
- When three lr more modifications, three quarters.
- From five to seven modifications, half.
- When more than seven modifications, you will recive 1d4 of radiant damage.
(This doesn't apply to potions)
