Ant Names 

Given the fact ants do not traditionally have names for each other, this race of enlarged ants does not either.

Languages

You can understand, read, and write Common and Ant. Ants employ a language without words. To show emotion and reaction, an ant clacks its mandibles and waves its antennae, giving other ants a sense of what it is thinking and feeling. Other creatures find this manner of communication difficult to interpret and impossible to duplicate. When forced to interact with creatures of other intelligent species, ants employ alternative methods of communication, such as drawing pictures in sand or making pictures out of twigs or blades of grass.

Ability Score Increase

Increase one ability score by 2, and increase a different one by 1, or increase three different scores by 1.

Age

Most ants only live to thirty years at most, but they are fully mature by the age of five or six and their reduced need for rest ensures they live the years they have to the fullest.

Alignment

Given an ant's loyalty to the queen of the colony, ants tend to be Lawful Neutral. 

Size

Ants are, by design, incredibly small. Your specific magical growth however raises you to 3 feet. Your size is Small.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 40 feet.

Bite

Your fanged maw is a natural weapon, which you can use to make unarmed strikes. If you hit with it, you deal piercing damage equal to 1d6 + your Strength modifier, instead of the bludgeoning damage normal for an unarmed strike.

Chameleon Carapace

The thri-kreen can change the color of its carapace to match the color and texture of its surroundings. As a result, it has advantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks made to hide.

Standing Leap

The thri-kreen's long jump is up to 30 feet and its high jump is up to 15 feet, with or without a running start.

Sleepless

Ants don't require sleep and can rest while remaining alert and performing light tasks. This, and their lack of eyelids, gives a large advantage in keeping watch while other members are asleep.

Natural Armor

When you aren’t wearing armor, your AC is 13 + your Dexterity modifier. You can use your natural armor to determine your AC if the armor you wear would leave you with a lower AC. A shield’s benefits apply as normal while you use your natural armor.

Multiple Limbs

You have an additional set of smaller arms. You may interact with an additional object or feature of the environment for free during your turn. You can carry an additional one-handed weapon using each of these extra arms, and you cannot use the Versatile property of weapons carried in these extra arms. You cannot use these extra arms to initiate grapples or wear shields. These hands can be used for other tasks, such as opening doors, carrying torches, using tools, or performing the somatic components of spells, without difficulty when they are not holding weapons.

Darkvision

You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
