Homebrew Demi Illithid Species Details

Demi Illithid are not a race, but a person that has over come the powers and ravenous appetite of an illithid tadpole. Typically an illithid tadpole will burrow into it's victim's head and devour their brain. However, what if the host that the tadpole is meant to devour to powerful for the tadpole to properly consume. Well you'd get the Demi Illithid. Visually they are very similar to the Illithid, or Mind Flayers, the tadpole attempted to convert the body into. Demi Illithid have thin looking purple skin, long nails, are completely hairless, and have completely black eyes. There are also some cases of Demi Illithids have tentacles around their mouth region. However, Demi Illithids do not have mouths and instead feed on the psychic energy around them and speak through telepathy. They are a recent occurrence and research is still underway on this phenomenon. It's also a wonder how these people manage to escape the Mind Flayers that attempted to convert them.
