Homebrew Apefolk Species Details
Apefolk are a race of agile and mischievous monkey-like humanoids. They stand about 5 to 6 feet tall and have a slender yet muscular build. Covered in a variety of fur colors, such as shades of brown, gray, black, or even vibrant hues like red or blue, their fur is soft and well-groomed. Their expressive eyes are large and round, often reflecting curiosity and intelligence.
Their hands resemble those of primates, with opposable thumbs allowing them to grasp objects with great strength. Apefolk possess a long, flexible tail that helps them maintain balance while climbing and swinging through trees or scaling other structures.
Apefolk Traits
You have the following racial traits. Agile Climbing, Monkey Paw, Polearm Weaponry, and Primate's Will.Agile climbing
Due to your primate features, your paws allow you to gain a climbing speed of 25 feet.
Monkey Paw
Due to your muscular build and hardened hands, you have gained are especially good at grabbing and picking up things, you gain advantage on all Grappling and Athletic checks, along with proficiency in Athletics checks.
Ability Score Improvements
You gain a +2 in Strength and a +1 in Intelligence
Polearm Weaponry
You are a natural at wielding things like sticks, so polearms would come naturally to you, you can a +1 to AC while wielding a polearm and gain proficiency in all polearms.
Primates Will
At 5th level, you get to the point where your Primate nature makes your body to where it can push beyond it's limits, when you drop to 0 hitpoints, you can use Primate's will to instead drop to one. This is useable once per long rest.
Age
Apefolk reach maturity at age 10, and can live up to 130 years.
Height and Weight
Due to their muscular and slender bodies, Apefolk weigh about 120 to 160 pounds, and are around 5 to 6 feet tall.
Languages
Apefolk can speak, read, and write in Common and one other language of your choice.
Alignment
Apefolk can be of any alignment, but normally fall under the chaotic alignments.
