Homebrew Cymanti Species Details

OVERVIEW
The Cymanti are a breakout group of Beings who moved to the swampy, Cymantini forests and learned to live with the Ciru Bug, which attaches to their faces and merges with their brains.
All tribal districts are owned by a Shaman- who uses an unknown natural magic to further increase the power and speed of their followers.

A long time ago. . .Nobody really knows how or when this religion worshiping the insectoids arose. maybe it was the cultists who created the insectoid kind? maybe native groups of beings who worship the small critters flying and crawling all over the world for their overwhelming populations. . in the olden days- this was alright- though as laws and cities began to flourish, the practices of the Cymacinism religion were outlawed as safety laws grew.

groups of Cymatist Creatures- suffering through religious prejudice and oppressions, left large cities and towns in droves, many sub-groups of the same religious organizations banded together and decided the best place to live would be the old redwood- swampy growths.

Cymanti Traits

Language

Due to the Ciru-bugs nature, you as a host can speak Ciruneese, Insectoid, and the language you knew beforehand.

Racial Lifespan

To prevent the human dying before the parasite, You have evolved to have a lifespan of 90 to 115  years.

Racial Size

To ease your symbiotic relationship with the Ciru-bug, you are a race of medium/small size.

Walking Speed

You move at a minimum speed of 35, but varies based on secondary race. (SEE RACIAL TRAIT: Mulitracial Traits)

Bug-eyes

In the world shrouded by shadows, you, the adept of darkness, possess a profound connection to the realm of twilight. Your keen senses pierce through the inky blackness, granting you a remarkable vision that sets you apart from others. With your 60 feet of greyscale darkvision, the world reveals itself to you in shades and gradients, allowing you to perceive even the faintest movements and subtlest details in the dimmest of light.

But there's more to your extraordinary sight. Beyond the boundaries of your darkvision, you possess an additional 30 feet of dim light vision. This enhanced perception grants you an advantage over those who struggle to navigate in the obscurity of the night.

Multiracial Features

In the diverse realm of Cymanti-born citizens, a fascinating array of races have woven their unique traits into this cultural tapestry. As you venture forth to select your race, remember that you can choose ONE other race and incorporate their modifiers and racial features. However, it's essential to bear in mind a few exceptions that apply to this union:

  1. Language Unification: Any language barriers that this creature once faced are replaced by a harmonious blend of Ciruneese, Insectoid, and Common. This linguistic fusion allows seamless communication among the different races, fostering understanding and camaraderie.

  2. Agile Mobility: To maintain a swift pace amidst the vibrant community, you must ensure that your chosen race possesses a running speed of no less than 35. This ensures that all members of the diverse society can keep up with the bustling life in Cymanti.

  3. Nimble Manipulation: Should your race possess fingers, you gain access to the unique combat technique known as Grub Strike. This technique capitalizes on your dexterity and coordination, delivering swift and precise strikes to your adversaries.

  4. Mind and Charisma Balance: To maintain the delicate equilibrium within the Cymanti community, you are restricted from adding any modifiers to Intelligence or Charisma. This limitation ensures that no single race dominates the social landscape, allowing for a harmonious exchange of ideas and emotions.

Natural Composter

You have a special ability known as "Natural Composer" which not only allows you to safely consume spoiled rations or other food items and gain their positive effects but also grants you a remarkable projectile attack using your digestive prowess.

- The Cymantians can safely eat rotten or spoiled food items without experiencing any harmful effects, thanks to their adaptive metabolism.
- When they consume such food items, they gain the full positive effects that would have been provided by the fresh version of the food.
In times of combat, the Cymantians can unleash a potent and acidic projectile attack by mixing their digested food with stomach acid and propelling it towards an enemy.

- To perform this attack, the Cymantian rolls a standard 1d20. If they have recently eaten spoiled food (within the last round), they roll with advantage, reflecting their empowered stomach acid after feasting on decayed sustenance.
- On a critical miss (natural 1 on the d20 roll), the Cymantian's reckless attempt at acid vomit leaves them momentarily vulnerable. Their Armor Class (AC) is lowered by 2 for one turn, as they are caught off guard by the sudden backfire of their stomach's contents.
- On a miss (roll below the enemy's AC), nothing happens. The enemy avoids the acid attack, leaving the Cymantian to regroup for their next move.
- On a success (roll equals or exceeds the enemy's AC), the target is struck by the acidic projectile, losing 5 AC until their next turn. If the target's turn is next in the initiative order, their AC remains lowered until it's their turn again, simulating the temporary distraction caused by the corrosive substance.
- On a critical hit (natural 20 on the d20 roll), the enemy not only loses 4 AC but also sustains 2d8 acid damage from the concentrated and potent acid.
