Homebrew Barrelfolk Species Details

                 Barrelfolk are humanoid creatures with their only distinctive feature being that their torso and head is obscured with a barrel-like shell. This shell is made of organic wood and metal to almost exactly resemble a barrel. Inside of the shell is a fetus like creature with arms and legs growing out of it and showing outside of the shell. This is the barrelfolk's heart and its most vulnerable point. It grows throughout the barrelfolk's lifetime until the point where it is so large that it is crushed against the shell. Eventually when it grows to this point the barrelfolk slowly dies in a process called shmushing. 

                 Barrelfolk are superior to humans in most every way. They are athletically superior with them being stronger and faster than regular humans. Their bodies are slightly elastic, almost rubbery and quite flexible. Their skin is similar to a non Newtonian substance in that it is soft and fragile when little force is applied and grows stronger and harder responding to more force. In this state, however, it becomes incredibly difficult to move the section of skin where impact was sustained until the skin becomes soft again, which takes time depending on the amount of impact sustained. 

                 The only way they are less superior than humans is their lifespan. Barrelfolk usually only live to 40 years old due to shmushing. They are also extremely vulnerable to attacks on the organic matter in their shells.

Barrelfolk are quite peculiar in that the way they are constructed is unlike anything else.

Due to their stretchy-ness, Barrelfolk can dodge attacks quickly.

Barrelfolk Divine Ascension

When Barrelfolk reach a certain amount of skill and power, the Barrel God bless them with divine energy to channel through themselves. Very few barrelfolk make it to this strength just because of their short lifespans.

Barrelfolk Sense

Barrelfolk have unnaturally attuned senses due to them not having eyes. They can see above average just using their hearing, smell, and touch.
