Homebrew A'akasati Species Details

A tree race.

Based of the superstition that a cherry blossom tree turns pink because a body is buried underneath it, the A'akasati uses a natural aura to steal the forces of of its victims corpe. This can be done as a bonus action after attacking, the player must make a DC 8 int saving throw to see if they succeed in absorbing the force of the victim - if they fail this throw they must take damage equal to the highest stat of its victim (e.g - the highest stat of an enemy is 14 therefore the player would take 14 damage).This damage is doubled on a Nat1.However if the role succeeds then the player can replace one of their stats with one of the corpse's. This can happen once per short rest. It is reset at short rest.
