The Biggest downside to the Caelite Curse is that it trades its ability to have Weapons and an Unarmed Strike for Bite and Scratch. Bite is just 1d10 of damage while Scratch is 2d8 of Slashing Damage. The upside is that the Caelite Curse makes the cursed extraordinarily well at magic. The Caelite is able to trade empty spell slots to add an extra 1d8 damage dice per spell slot traded in at the downside of using up an extra spell slot for the 1d8.
