Homebrew Clockwork Species Details
The clockworks are an ancient race of of clockwork constructs, created over thousands and thousands of years ago, by our highly intelligent ancestors. Made of cogs, gears, plant matter, and magic, they are very unique. They originally made were made by an ancient ancestor, who was a very mechanically powerful, and intelligent. He eventually made more of his clockwork toys and bobbles, and whatnot. And created the guild “The Master Wrenchers” who then grew over time, and created more clockworks. These solar powered constructs are quite large actually, standing over 6 ft tall, and sometimes go up to 10 ft depending on the creator. They are generally around 7 ft tall though. Your size is medium.( or large in some cases) If this brain is destroyed, it cannot be fixed, unless it is a recent model, and if this brain is destroyed, the clockwork dies instantly.
(They actually can behave slightly like elves at times... just an FYI)
Inhuman brain
These Clockworks have a very very complex brain system, very unique, but with similar functions as a human brain. Their brain is made entirely out of magic, plant matter, and solar energy. These brains are capable of many things, and act similar to a battery. These brains also are created directly by the creator.
Solar powered
The Clockworks mind and body, are entirely solar powered, with slight chlorophyll Enhancement. The brains being solar powered comes with pros and cons, due to sunlight being an incredibly pure, and direct resource. Some of the pros, include heightened strength, wisdom, and constitution, enhanced senses, and the ability to act as a lantern, torch, or flashlight. Some cons are that it requires to be charged, which could potentially mean, shutting off in battle, relying on an alternative source, and requiring it to be sunny outside before waking up. So it’s pretty balanced.
Shut down
The clockworks, brings solar powered have a unique way of saving storage, to power off, temporarily, then recharge in the morning. Similar to a how humans sleep, except it’s always ready to spring into action. However, it will not wake up if there isn’t danger within 10 ft of it, and it is sunny out. This downside makes it so that it has a strict schedule to start and stop, saving power. Due to this , you cannot shake them awake, or purposely wake them up. You can trick their brains to wake up however if you light a candle, and put in front of their eyes.
Constructed body
Their body, (since they are made of gears , cogs, plants, magic, and whatnot) has higher constitution, and strengh, compared to other races. Their body usually has a very shiny, but rustic coat of copper around their constructed cogs and gears on their outside.
