Homebrew Aetherling Species Details

Aetherlings have no parents and are instead born of pure ethereal plane magic. They are some how formed by nothing. when aetherling is formed it wanders the ethereal plane until it learns how to leave. Aetherlings are humanoid in shape but have strange wisps of smoke like substances coming off of them. The spots off their body that dont have skin are spattered with little star like patterns. Aetherlings all look different. the only feature  all of them have in common is their grey skin. the smoke coming out of a Aetherling is any color from black to purple to blue. some Aerthling skin is fully formed so they do not have any smoke leaking out of them. when ever a Aetherling cast a spell the spell is accompanied by a cloud of aether dust. Aetherlings are adventures and very, very ambitious. one of the main reasons they leave the ethereal plane is to go adventuring and to gain power. Aetherlings love to be in charge and they love to talk and scheme their way to the top of any chain of command.

Aetherling Traits

All Aetherling abilities are some how related to the mind. many of them do psychic damage or let them go to the ethreal plane.

Mind Twist

As a action they can they can make everybody in a 15 foot cone most make a wisdom saving throw equal to (8+wisdom modifier+proficiency bonus) or take (1d8) psychic damage and become parallelized for 1 minute. They may repeat this saving throw at the beginning at each turn ending the effect on a success.  On a success they take half as much damage and they do not become parallelized. Cant be used again until you finish a short or long rest.

Mind Blast

As a action they can they can make every creature in a 15 foot cone must do a intelligence saving throw equal to (8+ intelligence modifier+proficiency bonus)or take 2d8 psychic or half as much on a success. This trait cant be used again until they finish a long rest. 

Etherealness

As an action the Aetherling enters the Ethereal Plane from the Material Plane , or vice versa. It is visible on the Material Plane while it is in the Border Ethereal, and vice versa, yet it can't affect or be affected by anything on the other plane.

Psychic Ray

 As an action the aetherling can pick a target within 100 feet. The target succeed on DC 13 intelligence saving throw or take 7 (2d6) psychic damage.

Ethereal Sight

The Aetherling can see 60 ft. into the Ethereal Plane when it is on the Material Plane , and vice versa.

Psychic Defense

While the Aetherling is wearing no armor and wielding no shield, its AC includes its wisdom modifier.

Psychic Weapons

 All your weapon attacks do an extra (1d6) psychic damage.

Psychic Rebuke

 When Aetherling takes damage it can use its reaction to give every one within 5 feet 3(1d6) psychic.

Ability score increase

+1 charisma, +1 wisdom, +1 intelligence.
