Homebrew Daimanchnei Species Details

"Upon rigorous post-mortem examination of the specimen provided, our analysis presents significant findings. The anthropomorphic entities hailing from Icari, characterized by their distinct cranial protuberances, exhibit morphological traits reminiscent of Homo sapiens. However, they concurrently bear undeniable anatomical parallels with the Kakodaimōn demonic lineage, the predominant species implicated in the incursion approximately seven centuries ago. It's conceivable that during the tumultuous epoch marked by conquests, fatalities, and eventual integration, certain Kakodaimōn entities assimilated within the societal fabric, leading to the genesis of a novel hybrid species derived from both human and demonic ancestries. It's imperative to differentiate this phenomenon from the mutations observed within other human-like entities on the continent. The ramifications of this discovery are profound and warrant further investigation." - Dr. Z. Mitchell.

Short and Efficient

With a human's simplicity and a demon's charm, they have a unique beauty distinct to them alone. Their roots of being humans mixed with a small demonic race lead to them being smaller; they average a height of 4 to 5 feet. They are more slender than humans, averaging around 90 to 130 pounds. Males and females are about the same size, with males slightly taller than females.

Daimanchnei has a wide range of skin tones encompassing all human colors and demonic colors such as red, blue, black, and silver. They have little facial hair and body hair. They favor loose clothing due to their demonic roots of wearing no clothes in the underworld.

A Long Story

Daimanchnei lives for an extraordinarily long time, usually dying before their body decays; due to their demonic origin, they don't physically age for a long time, maturing at around 20 years due to their human genes. They show signs of aging after 900 years and usually become elderly around 1000. Their soul usually moves on in death, but their demonic body typically returns to the underworld.

The Daimanchnei often exhibit a reserved nature, favoring reflection over immediate reaction. They hold a grounded view of the world, undisturbed by fleeting disturbances. However, when they set their sights on a goal, their focus is unwavering and intense. Forming connections, whether friendships or rivalries, takes considerable time, but these bonds, once established, are enduring. They address minor disagreements calmly and confront grave transgressions with decisive actions.

Seclusion in the Mountains

Most Daimanchnei heir from cities in the mountains, being secluded due to ostracisation from most. They are viewed as less than, not as valuable as the other races. This separate development led to a much different civilization, living atop mountains, molding them to fit a city, but not necessarily like mountain dwarfs who live in the caves but instead chose to sit atop them. They are talented blacksmiths, armoursmiths, jewelers, cobblers, woodworkers, etc. They aren't the best at making clothing and art objects, opting for survival in the harsh environment of the mountains.

Their contact with outsiders is minimal, opting for self-sustainability. Daimanchneis outside of these cities are typically adventurers, exiled families, or a sage traveling the lands.

Daimanchnei Names

Daimanchnei are regarded as novices until they proclaim their transition to maturity, often after their century mark, during which their juvenile names refer to them.

Upon reaching maturity, a Daimanchnei chooses a mature name, though those who knew them during their formative years may still refer to them by their juvenile name. Each mature name is distinct, and it often resonates with the titles of esteemed kin or ancestors. There is a subtle difference between names typically chosen by males and females, yet the distinctions are nuanced. Additionally, each Daimanchnei possesses a lineage name, usually woven from other words of their tongue.
