Homebrew Dairabo (Large-sized Giants) Species Details

In an age of innocence, the giant god known as Teiyama was a protector of nature and the mountains.  When unruly fiends escaped their prisons and terrorized the lands, it was Teiyama who put the fiends back in their place.  The people praised him for his protection, and they built temples in his honor.

Yet, Teiyama was lonely.  He spent his time at the top of mountains, ever looking out for trouble.  He had no one to talk to, and his heart was heavy.  Then one day, he noticed a strong human woman hunting wild boar.  Her name was Seonna, and she spoke and moved like a man, but her beauty was glorious.  He approached her and asked to share a pot of tea with her.  She agreed, and their love grew eternal.

Soon, she gave him four children.  They were not as strong as their father, but they each inherited one piece of his strength.  Ishi, the oldest, he was of the earth.  Hono, the passionate, she was of fire.  Hyou, the most quiet, she was of ice.  Kemuri, the youngest, he was of smoke.  Together, they were known as the Kazan, and Teiyama was proud of his children.

Then came the day that Seonna died, and her spirit was to go to heaven.  Teiyama loved her dearly, and he could not bear the thought of her leaving him.  He handed down the responsibility of protecting nature and keeping balance to his children, and then he left to the heavens with his wife.  As soon as he was gone, his children began to bicker.

This is because they all wanted to be the leader.  Ishi believed it should have been him, since he was the oldest.  Hono wanted it the most, and so she thought she deserved it.  Hyou called the others fools and that only she was wise enough to lead.  Kemuri was ruthless, and saw the others as cowards.  The four argued for seven days and nights, and on the eight day they fought.

The sound of their battle echoed through the mountains.  The people below were frightened, and all of the temples dedicated to Teiyama fell.  The heavens above shook with rage, and the four children fled in fear of their father’s wrath.  They each found their own people to command, and they became a protector in their own territory.  To this day, the giant descendants of the Kazan still hate one another.  They follow the commands of Teiyama and fight fiends, but they rarely work with a Dairabo of another Kazan bloodline.  If they do, it will mostly be out of competition.
