Homebrew Desamora Species Details

I've seens a few Desamora in my time. They can be as vicious and ruthless as a starving wolf or as dosile and obedient as a blink dog. Most people like to keep them around for fighters or guard demons, but who knows when that thing will turn on you. These demons can act nice and sweet, but they will always be blood thirsty deep down. So, watch out if you decide to try and get your hands on one of them. You can raise them from childhood, but that doesn't mean they won't one day see you as prey.

Desamora are a breed of demon that hail from the abyssal plain. These beast are high ranking demons that should be feared. They can at times be unpredictable, but the one thing you will always be able to predict is how vicious they can be. They are used often for their talents, but those who own them have either earned their respect, are strong enough to demand it, or a fool waiting to die.

Demonic Felines

These abyssal creatures are said to look like a mixture between teiflings and tabaxi alike. They have skin and fur that comes in a large array of colors. Their legs are like that of a tabaxi and they can have the horns of a teifling. Much like both races, they have long tails, but they can use theirs as if it is another limb. Another trait that differs from Desamora to Desamora is their claws. Both their hands and feet have them, but some retract while others do not. Or their feet can resemble that of a dragon, which can be used to grab and hold things. One trait that is unlike that of a tabaxi or a teifling is their noses. Most people like saying that they are rabbit-like. Which is not completely wrong. They have slits nostrils for noses. This is so that if they are in a place where something is liable to get into their noses, they are better off. Smaller nostrils mean they have no trouble in things like sandstorms.

Viscous Beasts

Most Desamora wander about the abyssal plain. They adapt well to whatever layer they are forced to live in with ease. Most travel alone because of their violent tendencies. Then there are those that can get along well enough to try and survive together. This is usually because they are a family or there is one Desamora, stronger than the others, that are able to constantly keep their lessers in line. Together or alone they still manage to kill what they need and what they want. In fact, they enjoy killing just for the sport. It's nothing more than a hobby for them. They enjoy hunting down creatures and ending them with their bare hands. Do not be fooled though. There are Desamora that are as intelligent as most magic users. They just have a preference for physical activity rather than book learning.

Leashed Predators

As mentioned before, people enjoy the challenge of trying to...live with a Desamora nearby and under their command. Some say this is easy, they are wrong. You can earn a Desamora's respect by being stronger than it or forming some sort of contract with them. If they in return are not respected or given what they were promised they can turn on you in a matter of seconds. Then you will become their next game then their meal if they're not disgusted by your existence. Then again some Desamora enjoy keeping other races as pets to do the tasks they find too boring to do. So, it should come as no surprise that other races do it to them as well. Those brave enough to charge headfirst into the abyssal plain will run a Desamora randomly on almost any layer. When they do they tend to try and take the children, thinking it is easier to groom them from childhood to get the desired pet. Unfortunately, the Desamora that are taken as a child end up in the worsts of situations. They are treated harshly so that their owners can show their dominance and strength from early on. Which leads them to fearing those who took them in. If this does not work, having Desamora skins are quite useful when dealing with necrotic damage.
