Homebrew Bovini Species Details

Bovini are powerful, but gentle beings that hail from the plains of Narfell. Due to the harsh living conditions of the plains, the Bovini have learned to live frugally allowing them to travel lightly as nomadic tribes.

While the Bovini are seen as gentle folk, their large build makes them fierce in battle if provoked. Fighting isn't something they seek out, but they'll never back down from a fight if pushed.

Physical Traits

Bovini are broad, stout humanoids. They have a very short neck and wide shoulders that cause them to have a slight hump. Their horns are anywhere from 22-26 inches in length and curl upward.

Dark brown, coarse, thick fur surrounds their heads and necks. The rest of their bodies are covered with a lighter brown, coarse fur that's shorter and not as thick as the fur on the heads/necks, but still provides plenty of insulation from the weather. They have humanoid hands (covered in fur) and cloven hooves for feet. Bovini are born with red fur (often called red dogs) and short tufted tails. As they mature their fur becomes the brown colors.

Fearless and Intimidating

Bovini are often intimidating to many races due to their stature. They typically run in small tribes, but are sometimes seen by themselves. Because of their fearlessness they are well known as fierce warriors.

Bovini tend to vent their outrage through violence, but they aren’t generally quick to anger. They are passionate, loving their friends and partners ferociously, and they laugh loud and long at good jokes.

Religion and Tribes

Bovini follow the God, Tempus, simply because he is the most notable and praised God in the Narfell plains. They adapt his ideologies in certain aspects, like carving their own paths and by fighting honorably in battle. The small Bovini tribes interpret these ideologies in their own ways, so no two tribes are the same. There are 8 known Bovini tribes: The First Hill Tribe, The Giant Fire Horde, The Arctic Rage Tribe, The Eternal Water Kin, The Twin Axe Warriors, The Jade Hammer Clan, The Silver Horn Nation, and The Gold Skull Horde.
