Homebrew Wendigo Species Details

The wendigos are monsters that thrive off of basic needs, like hunger and deprivation. They very tall with long, grabby arms, hands and fingers, almost resembling some king of grotesque deer. Their face is covered by the skull of a buck. They live in very harsh, winter conditions, and only the weakest communicate with the outside world. They tend to be seen in mythology as 'The Spirit Of Famine' however they are very much real. Their main traits are - "Starvation", at the start of each of their turn, they must roll a constitution saving throw, on the first turn they need to roll to beat 1, then next turn 2, and so on until it reaches 20, then it starts back off at one. If the save is failed then the wendigo takes 1d4/level of damage and the counter restarts. The best way to keep track of this is a cardboard slider or something along the lines of that. - "Curse Me" - If the wendigo's HP is or is less than 1/4 of their max HP they do +3 on melee attack rolls. - "Feast on Fear" - If a crit is rolled on a melee attack, instead of rolling double dice, the wendigo can choose to roll regular dice, but heal the amount of damage they do to the target. This can be used twice per long rest.

The Wendigo is also immune to magical sleep and psychic damage however it gets -2 Max stat points to Charisma, Intelligence and Dexterity. Wendigos can cast spells and use Wisdom for spell save, however they can only cast cantrips and gain 1 at level 1, 1 at level 3 and 2 at level 5, in total 4 cantrips from choosing the race of Wendigo. A very complex race that works in special and mysterious ways.
