Homebrew Vaanara Species Details

Vaanara are one of the original four races of mathura. Their achievements were similar to those of humans during that time. They made temples and cities in densely wooded areas where the environment was as much a part of the architecture as the buildings were. Typically a Vaanaran city would have an equal part above the ground because of the Vaanaran penchant for climbing. If the structure needed to be undergound, a Vaanaran group would look for a spacious cavern or ravine and build it in a similar fashion.

Vaanara and Hanuman

In the Age of Soul, the Vaanara became enamored with Hanuman, a Deva who shared their playful nature. Hanuman took the form of a vaanara while on Mathura and came to exemplify strength, heroic initiative and assertive excellence. This devotion continues today and nearly every Vaanara knows Hanuman and pays him respect in their daily lives.

Vaanara today

Vaanara are found in many of the same places you find Humans, which is to say everywhere. They are not as focused on being first like their human counterparts, but they have an insatiable curiosity that leads them to join each other often in new ventures. Many seek to exemplify the heroic initiative that Hanuman instilled in them.

Vaanara adventurers

Vaanara have the simplest motivation to join the adventuring life, they want to experience new things. Knowing what sorts of new experiences your character is looking for will help most in shaping their future. Much like humans you can reasonably assemble any backstory easily, just make sure it's something compelling to you.
