A Reclusive People

Not much is known about the people of Aksum as they do not venture much into the world outside their desert domain.  They prefer it this way - their secrets and magiks are too precious to risk interference from outsiders.  The few who have encountered an Aksumi tend to describe them as standoffish and suspicious.  To earn the trust of the people of Aksum is a rare feat, indeed. Their dark eyes and sun-kissed skin set them apart from the paler folk of the Ashmorel Empire. 

 

Dynasty of the Ancients

The lineage of Aksum stretches far back beyond true recorded history - at least that is what the Imperials believe.  Mention of Aksum and it's Pharaohs can be found in even the earliest of the Empire's writings.  A heavily hereditary people, many High Priests positions and noble titles have been passed down directly for innumerable generations, and the Pharaoh herself is widely believed to be descended directly from the Goddess Isis.

Blessing of the Gods

Some select Aksumi people who serve devotedly or are destined for greatness become luck enough to receive a blessing directly from a deity.  As such, they acquire traits and abilities that exist outside the norm and reflect the favor that has been bestowed upon them.  These boons vary depending on which God chooses to become their patron.  A chosen of Sobek may exhibit patches of scales across their skin.  A child of Sehkmet may develop cat-like irises or sharpened fingernails that resemble claws.

Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

You can speak, read, and write Common and Aksumi.  You are highly educated due to your high ranking.  You can also read and write Hieroglyphs.
