Homebrew Basilisian Species Details
Basilisians are creature who prey on the magic of others to survive, not requiring food or water. If a Basilisian forgoes absorbing magic for too long however, it will die.
In terms of appearance, Basilisians look fairly close to humans, with the exception being that they have the lower body of that of a snake. They also don't have the ears of a human.

You can sense when nearby spellcasters have spell slots that you are able to absorb
Magic Consumption
You can absorb a level 1 spell slot of a spellcaster within 10ft of you for 1d4 healing. This acts as a spell, and the target must make a constitution saving throw. The DC is 8 + your proficiency bonus + your intelligence modifier.
Additionally, if your target is concentrating on a spell, you end their concentration and heal 1d6 instead of 1d4
You can do this ability a number of times equal to half of your proficiency bonus.
