Homebrew Wolfkind Species Details

Wülfkeind (pronounced wolf-kaynd) are humanoid creatures of the Feywild whose blood comes from a mixture of canine and human, elf, orc, half-orc, or goliath. (Blood from any other humanoid species requires a subrace). Because of this they inherit traits from both sides-- the power and cunning of a wolf, and some natural abilities of their more humanoid ancestors.

Wülfkeind typically resemble more their canine blood. Though they stand upright, bipedal, they are thickly furred in colours ranging from black to greyish-brownish. All have tails of sorts, all have inhuman ears which allow them better performance in hearing, and most have long snouts and heads like true wolves. Their eyes are blue when born, then, after a spurt of melanin in the eyes, turn amber, brown, golden, or yellow-- it ranges between wülfkeind. Wülfkeind are equipped with sharp, nasty claws on both hands and feet, and teeth set in their slavering jaws. They don clothing, wear armour, and don weaponry like most other humanoid species, but they are generally more chaotic and pugnacious. This deep-set impulse is usually drawn from rejection from both sides of the family, as written below.

Contrary to any popular belief, wülfkeind are nearly always rejected by their wolf kin. Much like half-elves are seen to both sides of their family, they are seen as having filthy or impure blood; therefore they are unworthy of their kindness, shelter, food, or acceptance. Their humanoid side typically aren't much better-- they often only allow them in after bowing from great intimidation.
