Homebrew Bloodfang Wolfkin Species Details

Bloodfang Wolfkin resemble wolves but with a slightly larger and more muscular build. Their fur is typically dark grey or black with streaks of red, resembling dried bloodstains. They have piercing yellow or red eyes that shine with a hint of wildness. They are descendants of an ancient pact made with a powerful wolf deity or a cursed bloodline. Their connection to wolves grants them enhanced senses, ferocious combat abilities, and the ability to take on the form of a wolf. Their blood-stained fur is a visible sign of their lineage and often instills fear or respect in those they encounter.

Bloodfang Wolfkin Traits

All racial traits will involve their abilities as wolves.

Blood Scent

Your keen sense of smell allows you to detect the scent of blood within 60 feet. When tracking creatures that are injured and bleeding, you have advantage on Wisdom (Survival) checks to track them.

Bloody Resilience

Due to your unique bloodline, you have resistance to necrotic damage.

Feral Instincts

You have advantage on saving throws against being frightened and can't be charmed while in your wolf form.

Wolf Form

As a Bloodfang Wolfkin, you have the ability to transform into a wolf. You can use your action to magically assume the shape of a wolf or revert to your true form. While in wolf form you gain a bite attack that deals 1d6 piercing damage. Your statistics, other than your size, remain the same. You can remain in wolf form for up to 1 battle 2 times a day, after which you revert to your true form (frequency outside of battle is determined by DM). If an ally is next to the enemy, you gain an advantage on attacks.

Feral Bite

You have powerful jaws and sharp teeth. You can use your action to make a bite attack. This is a melee weapon attack that uses Strength, and you are proficient with it. The bite deals 1d6 piercing damage. If you hit a creature that is already injured, the bite attack deals an additional 1d6 damage. You regain hit points equal to the total damage dealt by the bite attack when you reduce a creature to 0 hit points using this feature. Only usable while in wolf form.

Ability Scores

Your Dexterity score increases by 2 and your Strength score increases by 1. However, because of the Bloodfang's secluded nature, your Charisma decreases by 1.

Animal senses

You get a bonus to your perception rolls if it involves hearing or smell.

Languages

You know common only in your hybrid form and can talk to any animal.

Darkvision

You have keen senses and can see in dim light within a range of 60 feet as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
