Homebrew Corrupted Nidoa Species Details

Corrupted Nidoa can be created from many situations: A failed horn hunt attempt; a serious fall onto it's horns; even prolonged periods of time around creatures of darkness have been known to "corrupt" the magic of a Nidoa. This corruption occurs when the horns become cracked and the interior becomes tainted by the outside world. These Nidoa tend to create or serve evil, often for the person who "corrupted" them. If no sufficient master can be found, Corrupted Nidoa will terrorise other for it's own amusement, with Junior Nidoa their favourite target.

While the corruption strips the Nidoa of certain aspects of its power, it's tainting gives it the ability to verbally communicate, as well as learn spells outside of a normal Nidoa's comprehension.

Telepathy

While corrupted Nidoa lose certain aspects of their powers when tainted, they retain their ability to communicate telepathically with any creature within 50ft of it. Although this means that the corrupted can communicate with 'pure-hearted' Nidoa, the Nidoa are aware that they are corrupted from the nature of the telepathy.

Lot 'O' Puff

A corrupted Nidoa's tough, puffy body gives it resistance to either bludgeoning, piercing and slashing damage.

Depending on the nature of your corruption, your horn attack will inflict a different type of damage, given in the table.

Whole New Words

Corrupted Nidoa can speak common and an additional language.

Darkvision

Due to their Nidoan roots, Corrupted Nidoa have 30ft of Darkvision.

Ability score increase

Corrupted Nidoa gain a +2 to Charisma, as well as a +1 to Wisdom
