Homebrew Cosmosian Species Details
A Cosmosian is a rare sight, but bear the features similar to those of Aasimar counterparts, although more commonly female. Standing anywhere between 5 an 7 feet tall, a Cosmosian is known for their unique trait that signifies the mutation in an Aasimar, their skin, which reflects the visual of stars and galaxies floating and moving within their bodies, accompanied by freezing, cold temperature, although an immense heat can be felt during times of anguish or anger.
These beings aren't classified as Aasimars themselves however, as they become unable to bear children, and the inability to follow the paths that other Aasimars are given, leading to Cosmosians to be held as a miracle, or mutation depending on the society they are born too. Although in all cases of Cosmosians, there always has a need for expanse, or a need for greater knowledge, causing most to either leave their communities at a young age, or following a path of insight and enlightenment.
Cosmosian Traits
Although this race is similar to Aasimars in physicality, their are quite different in temperament and ambitions.Age
A Cosmosian reaches an intellectual maturity at the age of 15, and can live up to 2000 years, where they then fade from existence and their energy returns to the stars.
Alignment
Most Cosmosians are neutral to their surroundings, only focusing on knowledge, however so become so developed in their need for knowledge that they lose focus on the repercussions their actions bring others.
Size
Cosmosians are usually 6 to 7 feet tall, and weight of dark matter is immense, although stabilised within your boundaries, weighing in average at 400 lbs (181 kg). Your size is medium.
Speed
Your movement speed is 30 feet.
The Great Expanse
Cosmosians can tap into the cosmic energy surrounding all matter, and absorb it. This allows them to increase their size by one factor, to large for a small amount of time (15 minutes). This can be done once a day as a bonus action.. Once enlarged you gain advantage on all strength checks and your hit points increase by half of your maximum hit points.
Cosmic Appetite
Your cosmic energy enables you to absorb the energy needed to function through your sleep, which allows you to go without traditional food or water. Although you must absorb these each day, this can be done through the sleep cycle, although sleep is extended for these creatures, with a 10 hour sleep needed to regain their energy.
Endless Abyss
Your body fluctuates with cosmic energy, and if focused is able to make object phase through you, or phase yourself through structures. Twice a day you are able to phase through walls and structures, and can make an attack automatically miss using a reaction. Anything you are carrying or wearing also phases with you. The toll on a Cosmosians body is great however, and must pass a Constitution save of 15 to assemble their matter correctly, if failed a point of exhaustion is obtained.
Language
You can speak, read, and write Common and Celestial.
Truesight
Being one with the cosmos, tapping into it's internal energies, can see in normal and magical darkness, up to 30 feet, see invisible creatures and objects, automatically detect visual illusions and succeed on saving throws against them, and perceives the original form of a shapechanger or a creature that is transformed by magic. Furthermore, the creature can see into the Ethereal Plane.
Ability Score Increase
Your Wisdom and Intelligence scores increases by 2.
