Homebrew Under-Human Species Details

The humans of the under-dark are rude, crass, innatly magical, and skilled masons and stoneworkers. They are friendlier than other residents of their land and have shown they wish to work together with those above.

New even compared to humans they appear to be what happened to the exploring parties sent to explore the dark when it was first discovered. Having settled into what ever wasn't taken by the other residents of the Under-dark they have developed dark vision and a strong natural ability in magic due to their need to comunicate with other humans of the dark.

A Divided Kingdom

The lands that they hold appears to be divided not by inner turmoil but by other powers having already taken the land inbetween. They have such began using magic and those more practiced in the dexterous arts to communicate and travel between cities.

A Search for Power

Life in the dark has brought to the surface a trait shared even by their cousins above ground the desire for power. To survive as long as they have in the dark power was a requirement in particular magic. Now that the world above is open to them they have begun sending explorers, diplomats, traders, and even soldiers in an attempt to bolster themselves with allies, resources, and people.

New and Untrusted

They are not found outside too often as they draw the ire of common folk though those of higher standing tend to be more willing to make deals with them. Yet they have found allies with Dwarven and Human kingdoms

Dwarves. “They are useful allies to have a Under-Human mage or paladin is an intimadating sight to see we've found it best to keep open relations."

Humans. "They may be different but they are stil human we should focus on fostering relations with our new found cousins not war."

Powerful Mages

Those who so wish or those with signs of holding strong magic tend to be sent to schools meant to foster such abilities so that they may reach their full potential in the mystical arts. These schools are so exemplary that other races are tempted to try and bring young mages there themselves.

New Possibilities

Under-Humans having spent centuraries stuck with in their cities the open skies and fresh air above has begun to tempt a few to explore or others to conquer.
