Homebrew Zoras Species Details

one of the older races of Hyrule, the Zoras transformed and evolved over the years. From being more hideous fish monsters to more generic bluish-grey aquatic people then finally to their modern appearance of being fish people mixture. Zoras used to be more hostile race in Hyrules in the olden time were they would attack anything that came with in their territory. However when the years passed by and the Zoras evolved and became more peaceful race then establishing an monarchy in their raise to modern society.

Reserved and Loyal

Zora rarely lack loyalty toward their people, seeing themselves as equal to each other. This certainty might manifest as being reserved to other races and seeing them as stubborn, and hard to work with. This un-willingly to work with other can sometimes blind a Zora to risk, and their plans often get them and others into trouble. Too much failure can chip away at even a Zora's sense of self, so they constantly working to improve themself and their home.

Zora's Domain

Zoras might go their entire lives without encountering another race. Zoras tend to live together in big communities in big bodies of water, rivers, waterfalls or the capital of domain. Zoras have communities that are primarily of their own race and typically don't adopt the people outside their race. Zoras don't tend be hostile towards other race while inside their own domain but definitely wary of them unless the Monarchy/Royal Family has permitted them as welcome. The King usually has full control of the Domain and rules it for the best of his people however there has been times were the Domain was controll by another being beside the  King.

 

Zoras Traits

Your Zora character has certain characteristics in common with all other Zoras.

Ability Score Increase

Your Dexterity score increases by 2 and Constitution score increase by 1.

Age

Zora mature at an slower rate then humans or Hylians and they reach adulthood in their first century. They live up to 400 years.

Alignment

Loyal and Reserved, Zoras tend toward a neutral alignment.

Size

Zoras can be varied in height and size however at adult age standing anywhere from 5 feet to over 8 feet tall. Your size is Medium.

Land and Water Speed

Your base walking and swimming speed is 30 feet.

Languages

You can speak, read, and write Common and Aquan.

Aquatic Darkvision

When underwater the Zoras' eyes adjust to the light levels with in the water and giving them 60 ft of Darkvision.

Amphibious

You can breathe air and water.

River Zoras

These are more evil counterpart of the Sea Zoras. Originally showing up in the first Legend of Zelda game and later installments. The River Zoras appear to be more like a monster fish then humanoid fish person like their counterparts. They are less friendly, territorial and hostile towards others however they can be docile and somewhat reasonable because of the River Zora Queen.

Spit Attack

Within a 20 ft range you can spit out a fast ball of spit from you mouth to hit an target or object. when rolling to hit add your strength modifier plus proficiency bonus to the attack roll. On a hit deal 1d8 bludgeoning damage + strength modifier.

Monster-like Appearance

Because of your monster like appearance you are proficient in intimating others.

Pack Tactics

You have advantage on an attack roll against a creature if at least one of your allies is within 5 feet of the creature and that ally isn't incapacitated.

Sea Zoras

These Zoras are the one you see in Breath of the Wild and also Ocarina of Time. So they take on appearance of more sea animal humanoid or bluish grey fishlike humanoid. They are more friendly and not as hostile as their river countetpart.

Zorain Training

While Living in the Zora Domain you picked up proficiency in spears, tridents and nets.

Aquatic Leap

While in water that covers up to at least 3/4 of your body as an action you can use Aquatic Leap. You can launch yourself 10 feet into the air.

Aquatic Knowledge

When growing up in the Zora Domain you were educated on the way of water and how aquatic life works. Whenever you make an Intelligence (Nature) or (Investigation) check related to anything aquatic you are considered proficient in the Nature or Investigation skill and add double your proficiency bonus to the check, instead of your normal proficiency bonus.

The Ku

The Ku their first appearance in A Link in the Past and reappearing A Link between Worlds. The Lorule version of the River Zoras but they are still hostile towards other races. However not much is not known about them but that they look like cyclops kappa monster hybrid (if you have never seen one definitely look it up).

Fire Ball Spit Attack

From what we have recorded we have seen that they are able to shot fire balls from their eye. Within a 20 ft range you can spit out a small fire ball of spit from your eye to hit an target or object. when rolling to hit add your wisdom modifier plus proficiency bonus to the attack roll. On a hit deal 1d8 fire damage + wisdom modifier. A flammable object hit by this attack ignites if it isn't being worn or carried.

Ku Adaptability

The Ku have been seen in Lorule living and surviving in the colder regions of it like the Ice Lake and The Treacherous Tower. So you have gain a resistance to cold damage.
