Homebrew Cinderise Species Details
“With great bellows of hellfire the grand army of devils march to the cusp of the rickety bridging precipice into the mortal realm. Like a pebble before a rockslide, those of the Cinder Eye held their ground and with their great blood sacrificed they ensure their own eternal corruption, but bought the destruction of mortal enemy.”
You are a beacon of mental acuity and willpower, and in your home plane in the midst of the Cinderise City you are met with praise and adoration for you prowess in your mental arts, however on the mortal plane hardly none can see you past your horns and demonic features which often leads to trouble with its denizens.
Demonic Bloodline
Cinderise tieflings are derived from a bloodoath between fire genasi that promised to share their bloodlines with that of a host of shadow demons, and in the broadest possible sense, they still look fire genasi or human. However, their demonic heritage has left a clear imprint on their appearance. Tieflings have large horns that take any of a variety of shapes: some have curling horns like a ram, others have straight and tall horns like a gazelle’s, and some spiral upward like an antelopes’ horns. They have thick tails, four to five feet long, which lash or coil around their legs when they get upset or nervous. Their canine teeth are sharply pointed, and their eyes are solid colors—black, red, white, silver, or gold—with no visible sclera or pupil. Their skin tones cover the full range of human coloration, but also include various shades of red. Their hair, cascading down from behind their horns, is usually dark, from black or brown to dark red, blue, or purple.
Self-Reliant and Sharp
These teiflings live in a culture the praises art, wonders of the mind, ingenuity, and displays that show off the sharpness of the mind, and the fortitude of your willpower. These feats can bring about the highest of honors. This is a cultural show of force to show that despite their demonic side's primal destructive urges it holds no sway and has no merit compared to their sheer intellectual skills and pursuit in wisdom.
MET WITH MISTRUST
Ignorant people tend to be suspicious of tieflings, assuming that their infernal heritage has left its mark on their personality and morality, not just their appearance. The reality is that a tiefling’s bloodline doesn’t affect their personality. They are gifted with magic from other realms but chart their own course in life.
