Homebrew Undead Species Details
You have died. But through magical means you have been revived. You came back to life with but you are not completely who you were. You still look like yourself, though a little pale.
Revived
You have been revived after your death but its not like any revival. You feel cold and you something is off with you. Choose another living race besides this one. Before your death you were a member of this race and appear as an undead version of it. your size, height, and movement speed are the same as a typical member of that race. you do not retain special movement (Swimming, Flying), and, though you may choose to have formerly been member of a sub-race of a particular race, you derive no benefits from doing so.
Undead Traits
As an undead you have the physical characteristics of your former race.Undead Resistance.
Because of your undead nature you are immune to poison damage and to the poisoned condition.
Undead Trance
As an undead you don't need sleep. This doesn't mean you don't need to rest.
You have to rest but you can remain semiconscious, for 4 hours a day. (The Common word for such a state is “trance.”)
After resting in this way, you gain the same benefit that a human does from 8 hours of sleep.
This ability can be used if you take a short rest for more than 4 hours. You have to have been awake for at least 12 hours to use this ability again.
Ability Score Increase
Your Constitution score increases by 2.
Dead Immortality
You do not age, given time the necrotic energies that sustain you will heal most wounds you take at approximately the same rate as a mortal, and your hit dice function as normal.
Alignment
As an undead your perspective on life may have changed from when you were alive. Undead tend to lean towards neutral alignments.
Size
You have the same size as you had in life.
Speed
You have the same walking speed as you had in life. Any additional speeds such as flying or swimming you have lost.
Darkvision
You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
Undead Fortitude.
When you are reduced to 0 hit points but not killed outright, you can drop to 1 hit point instead. You can’t use this feature again until you finish a long rest.
Languages
You know all the same languages as you knew in life.
