Homebrew Birdfolk Species Details
Birdfolks are humanoïds with bird features. They vary very much from one another. Some of them are flying creatures with large and powerfull wings, others are pour of sprinters, taking advantage of their hollow bones to go fast on land.
Birdfolk Traits
As a Birdfolk, you have the following racial traits.Ability Score Increase
Your Dexterity score increases by 2, and another score increases by 1.
Age
Birdfolk reach maturity by age 7. Birdfolk don’t usually live longer than 60 years.
Size
Birdfolks are about 5 feet tall. They have thin, lightweight bodies that weigh between 80 and 100 pounds. Your size is Medium.
Speed
Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Natural weapon
You can chose one of the following properties :
Beak. Your beak is a natural weapon, which you can use to make an unarmed strike. If you hit with it, you can deal slashing or percing damage equal to 1d6 + your Strength modifier, instead of the bludgeoning damage normal for an unarmed strike.
Claws. Your claws are natural weapons, which you can use to make unarmed strikes. If you hit with them, you can deal slashing damage equal to 1d4 + your Strength modifier, instead of the bludgeoning damage normal for an unarmed strike. Your claws are finesse weapons.
Talons. Your talons are natural weapons, which you can use to make unarmed strikes. If you hit with them, you deal slashing damage equal to 1d4 + your Strength modifier, instead of the bludgeoning damage normal for an unarmed strike.
You can use weapons and manipulate objects with your talons.
Vestigial wings
Birdfolks can use there feathered arms to slow their fall or allow them to glide. When you fall and aren’t incapacitated, you can subtract up to 100 feet from the fall when calculating falling damage, and you can move up to 1 foot horizontally for every 1 foot you descend.
People of the Sky, Land and Sea
You can choose between Terrestrian, aerian or aquatic.
Terrestrian. you possess strong legs. Your base walking speed is now 40 feet.
Aerian. Your arms are way more feathered and strong, you have a flying speed equal to your walking speed. You can’t use this flying speed if you’re wearing medium or heavy armor.
Aquatic. Because of your adapted feathers and palmed feets, you gain a swimming speed equal to your walking speed.
You also gain the ability to hold your breath for a number of minutes equal to your constitution.

You can speak, read, and write Common, Aarakocra, and Auran.
