Homebrew Baobhan Sith Species Details

A race of all female fae vampires known to visit lonely hunters and travellers passing through mountains and forests in order to feed off them. They have hooves instead of feet on their humanoid bodies and use enchantment magic to disguise their nature and seduce their prey. Once they find their prey they'll normally seduce them before using their long sharp claws to strike their preys neck before feeding on their blood. Certain ones can also assume a wolf form. They are typically outcasts from the rest of their fae bretheren, living alone and isolated. They have a heavy fear of horses and are incredibly weak to iron like other fae.

Occasionally a Baobhan sith will leave the confines of their Mountain or forest homes in order to adventure to other places, in search of entertainment and far more unique prey opportunities. These ones normally are seen as aloof or creepy by the people around them. They have little sense of empathy usually, but if they find a party that isnt afraid of them, they can develop empathy for those friends or allies.

Typically baobhan sith will mate once every 100 years, searching out a particularly gorgeous human and seducing them with extreme vigor. After mating the child will grow for seven months before being born. The mother will typically raise the newly born Baobhan sith for 50 years, teaching them the ins and outs of hunting and seduction before the child leaves to find their own hunting ground.

Baobhan sith typically take up flowy, elegant, unique sounding names, often with a "Zu" Sound somewhere in the name. Common examples include Anzu, Zumira, and Suzua

They tend towards neutral evil out of necessity but the kinder exceptions that do pop up tend to be chaotic neutral while the ones driven insane due to lack of ability to feed can end up going off the deep end into chaotic evil.

Baobhan sith are a varied people, the main similarity coming in the form of a lithe, graceful build. They can vary from 4 feet to 7 feet in height, and tend to weigh 120-160 pounds. Their size is medium

As a fae race, Baobhan sith are granted resistance to charm effects, and Immunity to being put to sleep through magical means. However they are also heavily crippled by iron weapons.

The secondary weakness of the baobhan sith is an acute fear of horses and the fact that dogs hate them. Legends tell of the lucky few survivors of the baobhan sith either hiding among their camps horses or siccing their hunting hounds on her. If within line of sight of a horse or dog, The Frightened condition is inflicted until youre out of line of sight. Also the sound of a dog barking makes you uneasy
