Homebrew Drogre (Drow/Ogre hybrid) Species Details

Whether created by magical means, accident, or of violence, Half-Ogres have bred into a race unto themselves, much as Half-Orcs have. The Drogre is a specific breed of Half-Ogre bred by Dark Elves and combine Ogre strength and Drow grace. Drogre are usually between 7-8 feet tall, and weigh well over 250+ lbs of corded muscle with little body fat. Even at that size, all Drogre move with a fluidity characteristic of their Drow half. Drogre skin color ranges from a light greenish gray to a dark charcoal, with hair varying from a dirty white to jet black. Like their surface cousins, Drogre possess large tusklike teeth that sprout from their lower jaw. Their eye color, like surface Half-ogres have black "whites" but the iris varies from the standard Ogrish white, and includes the standard Drow variations, with red being the most common.

ALIGNMENT:  adventuring Drogre tend towards Neutrality, often turning their backs on the evil of their heritage.

AGE: Drogre reach maturity around 25 years of age, and may live to be over 250.

SIZE: Medium. 7' +1d12 in height, 250+ lbs

LANGUAGES: Drogre speak both Common, Elvish (Drow), and Giant.

Drogre (Drow/Ogre hybrid) Traits

Strong, Swift, Tough (STR +2, CON/DEX +2 total allocated as desired)

HARDY

Due to their size and sheer toughness, Drogres get an additional hit point added every time they gain a level

POWERFUL BUILD

With their great strength and stature, Drogre can carry weight beyond the normal humanoid capacity for their size.

LANGUAGES

Drogre speak, read/write Common, Elvish (Drow), Giant

DARKFEY TOUCHED

Drogre inherited the drow resistance to enchantment and charm attacks, and immunity to magical sleep.

ABILITIES:

Drogre gain bonuses to STR +2 and CON/DEX +2 total. While universally strong, there is some variance in agility versus toughness. This is represented at character creation by giving the player 2 bonus points to spend in Constitution and/or Dexterity scores. Thus a tougher Drogre would use both points in Constitution, a quicker Drogre would use both points in Dexterity, and a balanced Drogre would use 1 point in each Constitution and Dexterity.

DARKVISION

Drogres have inherited the ability to see in dim/no light from their both ancestors

MENACING

Size, mass, tusks, and reputation of both sides make Drogres naturally frightening to most smaller races.
