Origin Story

The Feywild is home to many fantastic creatures, and is also the habitat of the Avocado-folk. The Avocado-folk came into being as a fortunate accident in the world of magic. A curious and somewhat scatterbrained wizard, had attempted to magically enhance the growth of a particular plant. Unbeknownst to the wizard, his spellwork had an unintended effect, imbuing the plant with incredible magical properties. The magical plant began to produce magical Avocados, which are now known as the Avocado-folk.

However, when the wizard returned to check on his experiment, he found the plant missing. The Avocado-folk, grateful for their existence and wishing to protect their creator, had hidden the plant away in a secret enclave, which now serves as the heart of their civilization.

Religion

The Avocado-Folk reverence a sacred and living plant known as the "Avogoddessia." This revered plant forms the heart of their civilization and is the divine ruler of them, embodying the essence of nature's abundance and vitality. The Avogoddessia possesses an extraordinary gift: the ability to communicate with other plants to guide them in harmony with the natural world.

In their faith, the Avocado-Folk perceive themselves as the chosen offspring of the Avogoddessia Plant, summoned into existence from her mystical seeds. This mystical bond limits their population to a sacred number of 31. When an Avocado-folk's life ends, the ever-watchful Avogoddessia Plant conjures forth a new avocado from a tiny seed, heralding fresh life, and ensuring the enduring balance and continuity of the Avocado-Folk civilization.

Appearance

Standing at a petite height of just about 3 feet, the Avocado-Folk are a diminutive yet captivating presence in the natural world. They boast charming, tiny arms and legs, adding to their whimsical appearance.

Shortly after being summoned into existence by the Avogoddessia Plant, the Avocado-Folk undergo a remarkable transformation. The divine magic of the goddess splits each avocado into two halves, ensuring the balance of their society and introducing both female and male Avocado-folk. Female Avocado-Folk can be distinguished by the presence of a core within their half, in contrast to their male counterparts, who lack this defining characteristic.

With 31 Avocados forming the heart of their community, one unique Avocado remains untouched and whole, graced with a special trait, and which also holds a pivotal role in the Avocado-Folk society.
