Homebrew Wismouth Myconids Species Details

Ranging anywhere from 4 to 6 feet Myconids are brightly coloured fungi creatures who come in all shapes and sizes.Their physical features vary greatly from circle to circle and even within the circles themselves. The inside of a myconid has a soft texture similar to that of a mushroom however their bones are near the surface, and are hard and have a seemingly metallic feel. Because of their fungi origins myconids are very light, however, their endoskeleton does contribute something and they are usually between 20-30 pounds (9 to 14 kg) Though they are of a similar height to humans they are slow to move, however, their tough natural hide makes up for the disadvantage. While most Myconids have an aversion to sunlight, the Wismouth Myconids do not have such an aversion. They have evolved naturally and have been magically adjusted over the centuries to come up to the surface, although they still prefer to live at least underground, but not so far as the Underdark. They have their own special district underground beneath the city of Wismouth, in the country of Apton. They have grown as individual as the many types of color they can be - Traders, farmers, warriors, anything that they desire, although most are too poor to do more than farming and laboring within the city. They have developed their own way of speaking common and Underdark that comes directly from their throat, in the forms of little mouths that can appear and disappear at will.

2. As an action, you can eject spores created on the spot to begin rejuvenating any lost limbs.

3. As an action,  you can eject spores within 15 feet of you, poisoning a single creature. the target must succeed on a Constitution saving throw equal to 8 + your proficiency modifier + you Constitution modifier or be poisoned for 1 minute.  The target can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. The poison also causes a -1 to AC, causing enemies to be sluggish during the poison.

After you use one of these actions, the trait  will be regained on a short or long rest.

If in the sun, the trait Sun Tolerance cancels this trait.

A Wismouth Myconid can target one corpse of a humanoid or a Large or smaller beast within 5 feet of it and releases spores at the corpse. Within 24 hours, the corpse rises as a spore servant. The corpse stays animated for 1d4 + 1 weeks or until destroyed, and it can’t be animated again in this way.

This trait can only be used once the previous servant is destroyed.
